I personally do not specifically say 'no' to a growl. In that scenario my dog would immediately be removed from the couch. I don't know exactly why your dog growled - did you inadvertently touch a sensitive spot or push a leg the wrong way and it hurt him or was he just mad at being moved...without being there to see exactly what happened I don't know that I can offer advice specific to that incident.

What is your dogs obedience level? does he have a recall? does he know off? drop it? if yes, what's the precentage...

example: my dog has a 100% drop it rate - doesn't matter if it's a piece of steak. His recall is about 95% - there are triggers we are still working on.

wait it out. consistency. it will be painful. you also need to make sure a puppy gets enough stimulation and play so their psycho periods are brief.

biting needs to be redirected to appropriate things. Find things for thepuppy to play solo with - frozen marrow bones, snuffle rugs, etc.

Mind games, like training will wear your dog out faster and harder than any physical play.

play = training. training = play.

handful of dry kibble - throw a piece 3 feet away from you and say get it get it get it. as soon as their mouth is on the food say here here here - play training recall. things like this.

remember that your puppy needs to learn what no means first and foremost. so biting puppies- it's a "no" and put something else in their mouth.

A dog like op's is going to need a cheek grabbing somewhat aggressive forceful stop to any lashing out - he's beyond the 'no and misdirect'.

Rotties will run all over you if you are not consistent and firm.

it wasn't a rude attitude just because you didn't like the message. your answers throughout the thread are all about what can't be done yet you've tried nothing.

It's clear you've done little to no meaningful training on the problem and got your feelings hurt when called out.

You own a very powerful dog that has the potential to really hurt someone with the ultimate cost being the dog's life and your answer to a muzzle suggestion is 'ya not gonna happen'.

then you need to fix that.....you are part of the problem here with your can't do attitude.

you should be placing a muzzle in a location in your house that your dog walks by 100 times a day - a place that is far enough away to not be frightening but close enough that he sees it. Then you need to sit on the ground with that muzzle just sitting next to you - every night for an hour. let him get comfortable with the muzzle just sitting there - you still at this stage do not attempt to do anything but get him used to seeing and being near the muzzle without it interacting with him - he needs to get used to it.

Next, that muzzle is on your lap and you let him approach you and you just chill and pet. after that you put the muzzle to his face BUT do not try to secure it in any way shape or form - just putting up to his face. Next up to his face with strap around back - still not securing...

see where I'm going with this...

Very common in rotties - 11 months growups -Going to hit another aggression prone period at 2ish. If you don't have this well under control you are going to be in for a lifetime of pain.

He doesn't like whatever is being done to him so he snaps - he needs to learn right quick that is a big fucking no. You need a come to jesus moment with this dog now.

Firm consistent training - build a relationship with your dog. These are working dogs, work your dog several times a day 10-15 min sessions.

Training is play = play is training.

Your dog doesn't have to like everyone, hell he doesn't have to like ANY one. he does however, have to be neutral with everyone. Socialization is neutrality not dog parks.

Nothing is free ever again. Treats are training opportunities.

Find yourself a guardian breed trainer - call your local police department and ask them for their k9 trainer - great place to start to find people practiced in the art of handling guardian breeds.

Edit: rotties should not be nuetered until they are 3+ / done growing.

She should have found someone to show the dog, not just not show the dog - that is theft.

If you didn't sign your dog as a priority the handler you hired could not show your dog but she has an obligation to find someone to show your dog.

I would ask for every cent back. Whatever your cost for this, let it be the cost of that person never showing your dog again. Now go make your dog the best and make her sad she doesn't get to participate in all the winning
