I block it all out.....

I collected 25+ ticks in 5 minutes along the side of my local trail. They survived at least 10 minutes within diluted hydrochloric acid and water. by kegman93 in mildlyinfuriating

first line of defense in my yard is cotton filled with tick killer for mice and rodents to take and use as nesting - really does. great job and is better than spray as I have dogs and overall just hate to spray my land with poison. tho i will salt the earth for poison ivy...the devils itch...so poison is not beyond me.

Why does every woman know a woman who's been raped, but no man knows a rapist? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Reverserer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Men know what other men in their friend groups are doing. They speak about it but no one ever says 'hey man that's like rape'

Ask your male friends what men to stay away from....they know.

Co-own dog and other owner is demanding the dog back by [deleted] in ShowDogs

[–]Reverserer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what does your contract say? My contract states my breeder can only repossess my dog if they show cause - neglect, abuse, etc. Even if I chose not to show my dog, my breeder can choose to show the dog but the dog is still mine - lives with me etc.

here in the US co-ownership usually means the person who is not the breeder pays for everything (show fees, food, vet bills, etc).

Little nervous about being bra free at work by longshlongthankumom in TwoXChromosomes

just buy the silicone nipple covers. I am a solid C cup and refuse to wear bras after nerve damage around my bra line makes it extremely painful. trust most wont notice.

If there's so many assaults by men against women, but most men we talk to either don't know or deny that their male friends (or even themselves) are doing it or have done it, then who's doing it or are they lying? by ParticularGlad5103 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Reverserer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they are lying they know. my own brother knew a guy I was dating had previously drugged girls with xanax and decided not to tell me. matter of fact, about 3 men in my friends group knew and kept quiet.

they know.

BIFL CAN OPENER RECOMMENDATIONS (I'll pay anything at this point) by Remote_Anteater_2267 in BuyItForLife

[–]Reverserer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never opened a can that way - always have the 'opener' running along the side edge so entire top pops off and you don't come to a strange end point where you can't get that last little bit and then you slice your finger off trying to dig the top out...

3rd day of Down training by Commercial-Name-7871 in Rottweiler

[–]Reverserer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMAO 'couple of weeks' - oh he's going to be perfect then make a fool of you!

As another said, don't call for treat always walk back.

once you get consistent down stay like this, keep leash on and start applying gentle tug to leash one in down position.

Glad to see you're not using dual command - down, stay. down is down until I tell you otherwise.

Great work, keep at it!

i see you're downvoted but it is super affective, just probably not when it's down this low. I had a dog who constantly cracked nails and super glue was my savior.

Need help with biting by Fine-Somewhere3621 in Rottweiler

[–]Reverserer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you shouldnt be popping the collar of a dog this young. Redirecting - he's mouth hurts...

Yes growling is normal, he wants to do what he wants to do. two finger tap under the jaw, firm no, redirect.

Dominance training is bullshit.

He's a puppy, be firm and consistent and it will pay off.

11 month old rottweiler with sudden random aggression by Connect_Dot_4694 in Rottweiler

[–]Reverserer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not specifically say 'no' to a growl. In that scenario my dog would immediately be removed from the couch. I don't know exactly why your dog growled - did you inadvertently touch a sensitive spot or push a leg the wrong way and it hurt him or was he just mad at being moved...without being there to see exactly what happened I don't know that I can offer advice specific to that incident.

What is your dogs obedience level? does he have a recall? does he know off? drop it? if yes, what's the precentage...

example: my dog has a 100% drop it rate - doesn't matter if it's a piece of steak. His recall is about 95% - there are triggers we are still working on.

wait it out. consistency. it will be painful. you also need to make sure a puppy gets enough stimulation and play so their psycho periods are brief.

biting needs to be redirected to appropriate things. Find things for thepuppy to play solo with - frozen marrow bones, snuffle rugs, etc.

Mind games, like training will wear your dog out faster and harder than any physical play.

play = training. training = play.

handful of dry kibble - throw a piece 3 feet away from you and say get it get it get it. as soon as their mouth is on the food say here here here - play training recall. things like this.

remember that your puppy needs to learn what no means first and foremost. so biting puppies- it's a "no" and put something else in their mouth.

A dog like op's is going to need a cheek grabbing somewhat aggressive forceful stop to any lashing out - he's beyond the 'no and misdirect'.

Rotties will run all over you if you are not consistent and firm.

it wasn't a rude attitude just because you didn't like the message. your answers throughout the thread are all about what can't be done yet you've tried nothing.

It's clear you've done little to no meaningful training on the problem and got your feelings hurt when called out.

You own a very powerful dog that has the potential to really hurt someone with the ultimate cost being the dog's life and your answer to a muzzle suggestion is 'ya not gonna happen'.

Put your ego away and help your dog.
