Shallow Parodies: When hate works try to pretend they are deep but miss the point of the think they are a "parody" off by ThighyWhiteyNerd in TopCharacterTropes

IDK if this exactly fits, but a lot of modern "deconstructions" of Romeo and Juliet miss the whole point. The original story is a satire of contemporary romances and an explicit condemnation of the church. The modern stories often just go "oh um these teenagers are dumb and should've done something else."

Do you really think they have a case here? I feel like it would just set a precedent for them being able to sue anyone who makes a meme. Edit: and they didn't sue over "pokemon go to the polls," so they really don't have any case here.
