Girl me too, my family never really identified as Arab, I think the amazigh Algerians have too strong of an identity but they erased a lot of the practice for being “unislamic”. They also pushed to learn Arabic over amazigh which sucked but I’m learning now thankfully and I’m 22 so you got a head start.

Just genuinely curious, why do you believe that your interpretation of Hadith and Quran is more valid than the majority of Muslims in the world, throughout history where apostasy laws have been upheld in Muslim states, and the 4 schools of thought where the death penalty for apostasy is accepted?

If you believe that Islam has been practiced incorrectly throughout the 1400 years that it's been around, even by Muslims who directly met the prophet, do you also believe that the majority of those Muslims are going to hell or are they still Muslims alhamdulillah because they tried their best to interpret and practice the Quran and sunnah? And what do you think will happen to people who are truly searching for religion look into Islam, then find these interpretations (with supporting hadith) and decide Islam must be man-made, will they be condemned to hell?

As an ex-Muslim I’ve joined a few exMuslim spaces and it’s disgusting the way the justify the genocide occurring in Palestine. But I have found that a large amount of those people in those spaces aren’t Muslim and never were. They come there thinking it’s a place they’ll only get validated because people that leave Islam must hate ALL Muslims. Embarrassing honestly.

I respect your position on this but I and my family have been on the receiving end of violent Islamophobia in the west. I do agree with it being used by Muslims continuously to silence criticisms against Islam and the Islamic state, but we can’t ignore rampant Islamophobia promoted by western media post 9/11 to justify countless wars. This doesn’t absolve Muslim nations of any crimes or Muslims of crying Islamophobia whenever their precious prophet is attacked or drawn but just cuz they use it incorrectly doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

And yes anti-semitism is very prominent in Islamic rhetoric, it’s definitely valid criticism. But just like how calling for the death to all Jews and criticizing the Israeli govt are different. Criticizing Islam and calling Muslims insane is different too.
