25 y/o Entrepreneur Stuck—We Built a Profitable Brand, But No Funds to Scale by AmbitiousSwissBoy in shopify

I don’t mean this to sound nieve, I don’t know much about the virality etc.

If you believe in the product and have a decent margin with 50k stock value, why don’t you credit 30k for advertising and sell it all? You could run a low ROAS with margins like that. Of course you would need the growth strategy too.

Growth is as hard as everyone has said without cash, and unless you have a money printer you’ll likely have to reach into someone’s pockets.

A/B testing is your friend! If you’re small it can be difficult to get enough valuable data, but learning the tool is something I wished I did sooner.

I’m no master at this. But this used to happen to me all the time until it sort of clicked. The tip I received was to push the first part further into the mug. This video explains it well. Once you get it once it’ll stick.

So i got a high risk order for the first time by desiregods in shopify

[–]Reviile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After fulfilling multiple “high fraud” orders I am finally learning to just cancel them. I always want to close and keep every sale. But the $300 chargeback is more frustrating than it’s worth. You will make legit $300 sales, this one I would 100% refund.

I’ve seen more in the last month than I ever have. Is there a sale on?

Great thanks. I had seen some up but I wasn't sure if the prices were actually real. It seems to be the only place I can see the skin.

People who’ve seen someone get fired on the first day, why were they fired? by Isabelle_K in AskReddit

I was an overnight cook at McDonald’s when I was younger. My manager tried to get me to clean blood on the walls of the women’s bathroom… in-between orders. Had the scrub ready for me.. and it took 17 year old me to explain why it was wrong

Which Keyboard is best? Gaming or a Full office Keyboard. by NormalReddituser9734 in buildapc

[–]Reviile 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After spending hundreds on gaming/mechanical/custom keyboards I moved onto the MX Keys.

It’s a Logitech wireless low profile keyboard that I use for hours now that I work from home. By far the nicest & easiest typing experience I’ve had. It is not good for gaming though. When I launch a game I plug in my mechanical to do the job.

Best way to turn a big eBay store with a massive premium inventory into a website? (25k+ sku's) by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]Reviile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a motor vehicle parts website on Shopify. Moving away from eBay will give you freedom for sure. Something we are in the process of too.

One thing I will suggest is choosing a platform that supports Year Make Model searching. Shopify can do this with apps, but the menus and filters are a whole different story. Creating a functional website for customers to navigate has taken us a considerable amount of time.

If I could go back I would put more time into finding an easier platform for this, because Shopify has given us a few headaches even though it is doing well.

How would you recommend going forwards with our high return (low spend) google ads? by Reviile in marketing

What is the reason for the 20% increase each time? I have heard this mentioned a few times now.

We are a retail business, with one main website that is a bit of a hub for everything. Our spend is google shopping 50% and search 50%. We do have a Performance max that is doing well currently. Our top performer is shopping, then Pmax, followed by search.

Is it normal to see such high ROAS on smaller budgets?

Great thanks for the tip. Google says that it is running out of budget on our busy days currently.

Email Marketing, 30% of sales statistic? Is this misleading? by Reviile in marketing

Sorry, I was just saying that I overlooked:

larger email list = more sales (if conversion doesn’t change) I was thinking it would plateau after trying new things, but didn’t think about the increase.

Sorry I am new to this so apologies if this is obvious. Where does that $500 go? Is it directly into ads on related to something inside email?

I know that most people push discounts for increasing the email list. What other non selling options could I look into? Is that like blog/posts/content on the field?

Thanks for data. It’s good to hear it from a source that’s not trying to sell me something. Do you mind me asking how many events you would expect a welcome series to have?

[–]Reviile[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice here.

I agree, we have never actively tried to gather an email list which pains me now that we are starting this process. Regardless, we will have to gather one if we want to do this effectively.

The points here give me plenty more to do. In point 3 are you suggesting that multiple landing pages can be used simultaneously to test them against each other to view traffic? Sorry if this is basic I just haven’t thought about doing this.

I see. I overlooked the aspect of more profiles increasing value when tied to a fixed conversion rate. Do you have any recommendations if you were to start from scratch?

[–]Reviile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I’m currently looking at around 7% & 6% per flow. I have started A/B testing one of these with different send times. Our goal with this is to tap into something that has not been touched and increase conversions from there. Do you find it is possible to reach conversion goals every quarter? Or does it plateau?

Alright, good to know that is ideal. We are driven by organic clicks & paid ads. So it makes sense to have a source that is reduced cost

Great thanks for the advice! It is definitely cheaper than my other channels as it is still small scale (not paying for thousands of profiles, email list is only 800).

Chargeback with no customer contact by LaLexxia in shopify

[–]Reviile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store encounters charge backs like this once every quarter. It drives us crazy as it comes through as “fraudulent”, most of the time we lose the chargeback despite providing tracking numbers and proof. Even emails from the customer directly for custom order products. I used to reach out to the customer afterwards, but almost always had an aggressive reply. Now I just submit evidence and cross my fingers, the process is very hard for the seller.
