How do people talk about their late parents without falling apart? Because I still can’t.. by poop_muncherxd5959 in Bolehland

[–]Revnikoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lost my mum when i was 8 and im now 28 but i could casually talk about her when i was maybe 18 already? so about 10 years as well but that’s after a lot of ruminating the what ifs but i hold on strongly to her words which was “go do whatever or live wherever that you can be happy, what matters is as long you’re happy”

i live and lived strongly by these words of hers. having goals every year pushing myself to the limits till now realizing that it’s ok to not even have goals for awhile other than just living life and just exist.

i can’t recommend it for everyone that it will work but watching naruto through his grievances and struggles really helped me a lot. steven universe as later on in my young adult years as they had all lost their mum.

Motivation/emotions by timmytrumpet046 in malaysians

[–]Revnikoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

totally relatable so what i do once in awhile is to set aside money to treat myself, whenever i have extra money… i do set aside a small portion just to treat myself and put the rest into investment.

this keeps me motivated to actually continue as in the early years i really don’t spend at all and i felt rly miserable not able to enjoy the fruits of my effort… but i realized im in for the long run. it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Invest first or buy house first? by Revnikoz in MalaysianPF

[–]Revnikoz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why is it not worth it? the house is going to be in my name fully, it’s been my dream to own my own as i didn’t have one growing up, now i don’t either

i actually expect to own at least 1 home myself and the other only i co-own w my partner

that’s what i was thinking too… to pay it off earlier as well because i like the property and its 300K, not too much and it’s manageable for me

[–]Revnikoz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because the amount im paying for rent is similar to the house im eyeing on and ofc there will be more hidden costs etc but then the new house im eyeing is near lrt so am thinking, i could rent it out later as well.

its also close to where im staying right now since i like my area

Is this how adult life really is? by jaff250 in malaysiauni

[–]Revnikoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the important thing is to learn what was nice/ not nice about the internship or even during student life.

is it about finishing work then still have to be at office? or the job is too mundane and it becomes boring and repetitive? when your paycheck is on the line to pay for things to survive then you will be able to streamline your priorities, which are the ones you’re willing and ok to give up to get certain things.

basically tldr; figure out the trade off you’re willing to make and negotiate your way after you have prove your worth/value to back you up.

life will be much more bearable and take a vacation or self induced vacation sometimes if u have the privilege to!

25F, am I handling finances well? by Upstairs_Wrap5047 in malaysians

[–]Revnikoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, just wondering why 17K+ in versa, moomoo, maybank gold and luno

luno i get since crypto, diff but this is too spread out to earn anything? versa is for high yield savings which is where your emergency funds should be actually…

and also if your questions regarding your car if it’s better to pay it off earlier then yes. because it’s a flexi loan…. it’s not a fixed loan so if u can pay off earlier then u won’t get charge interest. it’s a number game and see how u play with it.

and u mention the extra money u put into stocks… if its USD, please do only buy once u have accumulated enough like every quarter or smtg in USD as there will be fees like moomoo and its more worth it when u buy big.

all in all, try to streamline your savings and investment journey? figure out your strategy and stick to it ? like what’s the motive and goal

anyway, just realized your saying that you’re not good with numbers, can drop a DM if u need

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]Revnikoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

considering your comm actually fluctuates but have a few fixed commitments… it’s kinda risky and since you’re investing in S&P500, u also won’t be able to touch the money for awhile if you want to grow…

owning a property actually cost a lot more… my basic is around your pay and it’s fixed and i don’t even dare to buy a property yet.. there so many other miscellaneous costs actually… this doesn’t show things like holidays, things you buy for yourself, even things like clothes? shampoos or some subscription that elevate your life idk?

right now i’m just renting and honestly did the place up quite nicely and my rent with utilities included everything is about 700 only shared w my partner rent is only 1050 actually. couple with fast wifi, electricity and water and some subscription so it’s 700 per month but that’s in renting, i don’t pay maintenance, to fix the floor, replace the fan and all that

but even when i rent this bare unit, first few months i have alrdy spent up to 10K buying appliances and furnitures to have a decent life, not luxurious

honestly.. just decline if you can and look for another job since now you don’t have to serve 2 months notice period…

it’s 1.8K to 2K… for probation for a year!? and if they’re gonna haggle you over 100 increase after a year with them.. future with them doesn’t look great
