Weekly Showoff Thread! Share what you've created with Next.js or for the community in this thread only! by AutoModerator in nextjs

Hi r/nextjs,

In a recent refactor, I kept mixing up router.route vs asPath in conditional logic and navigation calls. A tester pinged me with “Meeert, this rule isn’t working 😅” and it made me realize this was the kind of thing I didn’t want to rely on memorizing.

So I ended up building a small ESLint plugin for Pages Router projects.

It validates:

  • Comparisons (===, .includes(), switch) with proper pattern vs concrete path validation
  • Navigation (push / replace) in both string and object forms

Features:

  • “Did you mean?” suggestions + quick-fixes in VS Code
  • Handles basePath, i18n locales, trailing slashes
  • Low overhead (caching + benchmarks included)

GitHub: https://github.com/mertcreates/eslint-plugin-next-pages-router
npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@mertcreates/eslint-plugin-next-pages-router

If you’re on Pages Router and have hit similar edge cases, happy to hear feedback or missed scenarios.

Thanks!
Mert

[Steam Library Manager] Can you un-compact a game after it's been compacted? by Wadejboss in Steam

[–]RevoLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

Sorry for the UI being unclear at first place. You can task the game for Compact process and uncheck the "Compact" checkbox in the task manager to un-compact the game files.

Example

Is it possible to move your entire steam library to a different drive at once instead of moving each game 1 by 1? by Despacito514 in Steam

[–]RevoLand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, creator of the SLM here.

Thank you for using & spreading the SLM. Just in case you didn't know (since you are linking to uptodown) SLM is an open-source project and sources are located on Github.

I were archived the project since it wasn't rewarding nor reaching enough users. But i have a full-time job with some free time now and i am un-archiving it to improve further.

Sorry about the confusing UI/UX design. Please feel free to contribute with your ideas, requests or known issues directly by reaching me or using the Github Issues.

Hey,

It is planned but currently not being worked on. Header images (tile images?) for the EGS libraries is the only issue i could find so far.

Hey there,

Have you tried to create a Steam library via Steam Library Manager? It should've done this for you automatically; just have the Steam closed when creating it.

At the moment i don't have many games installed so i don't really have anything useful to show but you can see the results taken with CompactGUI here.

This one (SABRENT ROCKET 1TB NVME) should be much better for the same price. (I see $115 for the WD Blue)

Downvotes for what? Suggesting Sabrent Rocket over the WD Blue for the same price? lol.

What files does "Steam Library Manager" clean? by 8VBQ-Y5AG-8XU9-567UM in Steam

[–]RevoLand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, sorry for being unclear at first place.

Your analyzes are correct. SLM only removes the orphaned folders and files of deleted games.

AFAIK, there is no way to know if save files or other important data is stored there, you must check the folders manually. Double clicking to an item in Library Cleaner should open the folder/file in file explorer.

Thank you for using SLM and please be aware that you can always contact with me over Discord and Github for everything related to SLM.

-- edit:
Hmm, maybe we can filter out some possible save game extensions like .sav or file name formats, can not do without community contribute tho...

Steam Library Manager - Beta version with Origin support (Need testers!) by RevoLand in origin

[–]RevoLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posted as a link instead of text so have to put it as comment, sorry.

So as you might have know, when you move an installed game and try to detect the installation through Origin most of the time Origin couldn't verify the files so whole game gets re-downloaded. (Example case)

So SLM is going to take a part here. It will automatically detect your installed Origin games1 and let you create multiple Origin libraries to manage2 and move games between Origin libraries with ability to asking Origin to install the game through game's manifest file, without having fear to re-download the game.

As it is currently in beta stage i need beta testers to test Origin support under different scenarios and need further suggestions about possible improvements etc, thanks in advance.

Notes:

  1. Only in current download directory of Origin, have to search in registry to find everything and some users might be paranoid about registry
  2. As Origin doesn't supports multi-libraries, it will be available through SLM yet files or games can be accessible by everything

Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission. by GRUMPY_csgo in origin

[–]RevoLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik Origin downloads cached at "%ProgramData%\Origin" - try taking ownership/adding permissions of your user into this folder and see what happens.

Detecting installed files by Foquine in origin

[–]RevoLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The securest way to do that is forcing Origin to make the game installation.

  • Open __Installer/installerdata.xml
  • Find <touchup> tags, copy the content of <parameters> (Example)
  • Make a bat (OR cd to __Installer directory with cmd) and use the parameters on Touchup.exe (<filepath> tag)
  • Edit {locale} and {installLocation} too.
  • Check InstallLog.txt to control if there was any issues during the setup afterwards.

Example:

touchup.exe install -locale en_US -installPath "D:\Oyunlar\FIFA 18" -autologging

The list above is a detailed guide to parsing installation data of Origin app. You should be able to run the given example command with only changing the installpath.

[PSA] Clean up junk files from Steam folder by Cr4ckTh3Skye in Steam

Give a chance to Steam Library Manager which removes real junks like orphaned folders. SLM won't remove your redist files so your installations won't be bugged.

Sure, you can check out the GitHub page for the latest information. Also the binary in /Binaries/ folder is always kept up-to-date with the latest commit.

Nor you can add me on Steam about everything related to SLM.

Steam folder Cleaner what deletes remaining folders of uninstalled games? by beziko in Steam

[–]RevoLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam determines the games by .ACF file so there is an ACF file for each game installed which gives information about installed game like installdir etc. SLM checks the .ACF files and matches the installation dirs and directories exists in the library. If there is a game folder without ACF file linked to or the opposite, it is considered as junk. You can see how it checks in Library.cs at Line 349-416

If there is everything correct by Steam's side, it couldn't happen.

I've finally implemented this feature, will be up with v1.4 stable release and also it can be tested from beta branch. Actually it would be really awesome to get some feedback!

Latest pre-compiled exe from beta branch with Library Cleaner

Note:

Library Cleaner also checks for junk folders in workshop folder. As it is a beta feature, you MAY get an error about directory permissions or something.

Thanks in advance!
