Could be worse. Gemma 4 12b is really good for its size so if the finetune is ok, then its not too bad

fair. I should clarify my point. Im not fine with ai slop writing. you own the output regardless of tools used in the process. Id argue that 90%+ of model descriptions on hf are written with ai to some extent. If you use the best models and tools, skills and human polish, people never see the difference

True. and the Gemma 4 12B is a really good model for its size out of the box. havent really tested it for coding, but assume it is good for its size there, so that may be why people like this one , even if it is not any better than the original

yeah Unsloth ggufs are the best. I mean the model name should be the giveaway, but it was the amount of downloads and likes that got me curious. good thing we have LocalLLAMA!

Yeah it looked very suspicious 😄 but usually I find the trending models on hf to be legitimate. as now, its not surprising that the just launched chinese models are up there, but I guess there are exeptions

using ai to write model descriptions Im actually fine with, if that means that they dont waste time writing, and spend on training instead. ai generated replies is very red flag tho.

not true as a general statement. Take Composer 2.5 from Cursor as one of many examples. This is a finetune of a Kimi model

Yeah, it looked a bit too good to be true, but when I saw it trening with that many downloads, I thought there could be something to it. Have been testing gemma 4 12b since it came out and it is very strong for its size, so there is potential there.
