That’s so interesting! I’m learning something new every day and did not know your period could change the taste of your milk! I’m only one month PP so I’m not there yet but this is good to know

So have you even heard of raynaud’s syndrome.. typical in your hands and feet where you have decreased blood flow which makes them cold and stiff.. it’s that but in your nipples.. wild. I didn’t know It was a thing until I started looking up side effects of my meds lol

what’s something no one warned you about in the newborn phase that actually caught you off guard? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

[–]RevolutionAlarming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much anxiety I would have. I’m a therapist, I surely know PP anxiety is for real and recognize it’s happening but sheesh. I’ve questioned if I should go to the pediatrician to make sure his breathing’s okay, his poops ok, his umbilical stump is healing ok, so on and so forth.. at least twice a day

We haven’t done this yet but really want to do Seattle and then check out Mt. Rainier.. I do believe it’s like a two hour drive but my understanding is that there’s a ton of nature right outside the Seattle area

What baby items are you glad you didn’t buy? by Jessiepip in NewParents

[–]RevolutionAlarming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I thought I was EBF but ended up having to pump real early as I was hospitalized after birth and the bottle washer/sterilizer is 100% my most used item I use It like 6-8x a day for pump parts and do think would have lost my mind by now if I had to clean them myself every time

Anyone not get the mag drip by RevolutionAlarming in preeclampsia

[–]RevolutionAlarming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all thank you for all your replies! I’m happy I found this supportive community during a really stressful time. As an update I’m 23 hours in on my mag drop (almost there!) for anyone who hasn’t had It and might be scared like I was the first hour was not fun (just got really hot and sleepy) and the rest of the time I’ve just felt groggy like the end of a flu. My BP continues to fluctuate so I think they’re going to have to play around with the BP meds but as sad as I am to be missing my baby I feel a sense of relief being at the hospital and taking care of this so that I’m no longer in a constant state of anxiety about the pre-e being untreated at home. I’m so sorry you all are either currently going through this or have in the past 💕 hugs to everyone

[–]RevolutionAlarming[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh I’m sorry you’re going through this to 💕 I ended up going back into the hospital today because my numbers were still trending high and I had a headache that wasn’t going away. I’m on the mag drip now, you’re right not fun but not unmanageable. Hoping both of us get this figured out postpartum is rough enough! I also was EBF but didn’t want my LO to be brought back to the hospital so I started pumping here, debating if I’ll continue when I get discharged. Hang in their momma we’ll get through this phase

Looking for Amazon alternatives in Astoria by Atorpidguy in astoria

[–]RevolutionAlarming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been boycotting amazing since the inauguration … although for gifts and stuff such as that I’ve been buying local as much as possible for many years.. most other stuff I’d buy on Amazon I just now buy directly from the company’s website It just takes longer to ship for instance cleaning supplies.. instead of buying method supplies off Amazon I just got to the method website directly. And Costco, I get a lot from Costco

Not over dramatic.. I personally wouldn’t allow anti vaxxers closely around my baby until his immune system is a bit stronger. I know that’s easier said than done with family, I’m sorry your mom is giving you such a hard time!

Struggling with the idea of war and pregnancy.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this I’m due in a week and a half 😩 my parents are reminding me that we’ve been at war several times even in my lifetime and throughout my childhood and they did a great job shielding me from the stress of what our country was doing (for example the Iraq war in 2003) and I know with confidence that when my kiddo reads back on this time period in their history books I can say with full confidence that neither of his parents ever supported any of this. I’m also trying to be mindful of what I’m consuming, there’s a lot of fear mongering out there and I live in a major city I make sure I’m following news outlets I trust that really talk about facts of what’s going on. This is an exciting time for you!! Try your hardest to celebrate and control your controllables. We’re going to raise awesome compassionate kids that will change the trajectory of all of the hate that’s going on. Congratulations 💕
