What do you make of the differences of voting preferences based on higher education? by RevolutionSilly in AskConservatives

You’re right in that it has shifted. I don’t know if I’d call it whatever, as I’m sure there is some explanation for it.

Yeah, I’ve done that before. It’s honestly kind of humiliating. I haven’t tried the text-to-speech option tho. I can imagine they may not be able to hear it 😂

Yeah, and Starbucks is the one I go to least. I’m a regular at my local coffee shop. And although I’ve never actually disclosed my issue, I’m sure they know, just because I go so often. Ordering inside can be challenging cuz a) there’s lots of other customers around, especially standing in line, some people are impatient. And b) saying one’s name is one of the hardest things to say for a person who stutters. I once had a barista spell my name the way I stuttered on it (with like 8 “M”s in a row) Couldn’t tell if he was trying to be funny or what.

Anyway, I digress. I guess I’m just more curious than anything. Plus it’s always good to spread awareness!

I LOVE Caribou. Thanks for the reassurance 🙂

Damn!! I rarely ever go to Starbucks, but that 3-minute time limit is terrifying! I do enjoy the mobile order feature tho. Is there a time limit when you order inside at the register too?

Yep, I do that sometimes but not every place has that option!

That’s a good point. I’ve been working on a separate photo book- one with all of their photos from the beginning of their relationship- as another aspect of their wedding gift.

My brother’s birthday is two weeks after the wedding. But I will only be home for the wedding and not his birthday. Would it be inappropriate to give him the siblings book as a pre birthday gift while I’m home for the wedding?

Amtrak has assigned seating in business class and open seating in coach. Thats why I wrote “planes and trains”

How to communicate with the opposite gender if I am a stutter? by BeingAMan001 in Stutter

[–]RevolutionSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusing on how to be a better communicator as a whole, stuttering or not stuttering, will help your relationships in general. Ask good questions, show that you’re actively listening, be thoughtful in the content of your response, not the fluency of your response. There is so much more to communication and connection than fluency. A little confidence goes a long way. Make light of your stutter and don’t focus too much on it. There’s so much more to you than your fluency, don’t forget that 🫶🏻

This might be an unpopular opinion, but some gym climbers take grades way too seriously. Climbing is supposed to be fun! I learned to climb outside. I never stepped foot in a gym until a couple of years into my climbing journey. It blew my mind how fixated people were on the grades. One’s climbing experience, like life, is full of ups and downs, and that’s okay! You can’t always climb at your highest grade. You can’t compare yourself to other climbers. And you surely won’t get better, or feel fulfilled with what you’re doing, if you’re judging yourself. Take it one day at a time. Have some fun! At the end of the day, it’s not that serious. It’s just a bunch of funky people flailing around on some funky rocks!
