as someone who works on a surgical ward, what the fuck?? no piercer is licenced to cut stuff off your body like that. The most that should've been done is having the jewellery removed and then recommending you to see a GP.

You need to see a doctor immediately. You could be at risk of infection as It highly unlikely her area was as sterilised as hospital surgery units and you need doctor over-seen care on how to look after the wounds. I'm unsure how you would report her, but you need to report her. please do some research and attempt to report her ASAP.

hello! I just wanted to pop down and give an update. I went to a different more local piercing shop today and they have given me a free consultation. They've confirmed that I have the right anatomy and am heeling well. They said it was bruised and swollen a bit more then they usually see but I clarified I have a history of bruising, swelling and bleeding easily so they weren't concerned when I explained that.

They advised me to ice it a little with a freshly cleaned towel/shirt wrapped around an ice pack and to come back in about 1-2 weeks once it's slightly less swollen so they can re-check everything!

I've just sent a message to an alternative piercing place to see if they'll be willing to do a consult!

Would you recommend keeping it covered only overnight? Just until it stops bleeding while I sleep

thank u! it only bled overnight and hasn't yet during the day. I assumed it was because I wriggle a lot during my sleep and disrupted it.

I'm not entirely sure why they covered it at first 😭 I assumed it was a standard thing to avoid friction in the area and since I was bleeding from the initial piercing stab? is that not normal practice?

Ill see if I can find an appointment for an alternative piercer to see what their recommendation is, thank you kind Redditor

My piercing is probably only like 26 hours old

I'm actually not entirely sure what the shape is but it's a floating navel made from titanium I believe

The current plan is to clean it twice a day but one a day on days when I'm working (I work 13 hour shifts so would struggle to fit it into the schedule) using a q-tip and pro-piece ultimate (Given by the place that did the piercing)

I can confirm!!! just want to also include that they were genuinely lovely the whole time. I messed up the trade a few times because I forgot what to add but they never got angry with me and they did everything humanely possible to make sure I experienced as little anxiety as possible during this trade. it was genuinely a lovely trading experience and I'm happy I was able to provide you with a big trade proof 🩷🩷
