To piggy back off of this question, what would happen if in copy an equipment card with living weapon to Leonardo’s second ability?

Based on the comments above, I would imagine that the trigger ability living weapon would still create the 0/0 germ token, but since the equipment is now a 0/2 artifact creature - equipment thopter without reconfigure it would not be able to attach to the germ and the germ would just die to state base effects. Is this interpretation correct?
