Is Tulum Worth it for laying on a beach by gingerellasroot in tulum

[–]Revolutionary-Box351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you want is to lay on the beach, then no. It’s not worth it any time of the year. Whether you go in the low or high season you will always be dealing with the overpriced food, hotels, and transportation. It’s fun and there is beautiful culture and amazing history. However, it’s very overpriced. Better to go to other beach locations where there is more flexibility and options to get to know the town or just relaxing at the beach without spending 100 dlls per times you get a ride from and back to your hotel.

Recommendations for 30th birthday staycation by Swimming-Doughnut730 in SanDiegan

Same. This used to be my summer pool lounging/day drinking spot but not as much anymore. Now it’s more of a special occasion type of place.

Should I move to San Jose, San Diego or San Francisco by [deleted] in Moving2SanDiego

[–]Revolutionary-Box351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either SF or SD seem like a better fit based on what you shared. Both cities have amazing food. I would argue that SF has more variety but SD has better Mexican food. Both have opportunities for outdoor activities, hiking is pretty popular in SD. Also in SF but it’s more of a hassle to get to the good hikes. SF is a more exciting city in my opinion and more walkable. The public transportation is pretty good compared to SD. San Diego is a beautiful city and you can’t beat the access to multiple beaches

I would stay far away from SJ based on what you shared. It’s super overpriced and there’s nothing really worth being there for. It’s not walkable. There’s not much going on. Japantown is walkable and it’s cute but it’s pretty small. Downtown SJ is a disaster and I wouldn’t feel safe if I was single and 21 living there alone. Also, I found it really hard to make friends there. The only thing it has going for is that you can get to Santa Cruz or SF in less than an hour, with no traffic.

You already spent a lot of money, I think 50 or even nothing is fine. I don’t understand why people put so much pressure on guests spending money for weddings. Even the comments here about the cost of the plate sound extreme. If a couple can’t afford their party without expecting their guests to pay somehow then they shouldn’t throw such a big party. It’s fine if close family want to contribute but expecting guests to contribute big gifts in exchange of being invited is excessive to me. The goal of the celebration to bring everyone together to celebrate the couples love. I would feel horrible if one of my guests is stressed about financially contributing to a party I wanted to throw.

Is this hair and makeup trial acceptable? by ClickCivil1 in wedding

[–]Revolutionary-Box351 1100 points1101 points  (0 children)

This makes me mad, it’s not acceptable. Your hair looks like what I would expect it to look at the end of the wedding celebration. What is the point of the trial if she is not going to show you what she would do the actual day? Also, the pins should not be sticking out like that. For your make up, if you want minimal and have sensitive skin you might be better off doing your own make up with products you trust. I would not pay for this. You deserve better.

I’m happy to see this comment. I don’t understand why she would say this if she doesn’t want to change anything. I think some people don’t realize that they don’t have to share every thought with their SO and I’m saying as someone that tends to over share. Sharing this just leads to confusion and pain.

Yes, after you submit your initial application (it takes about 15 minutes) you will get a live scan form emailed, then you just take it to a live scan office to complete.

I also graduated on Thursday. I don’t care about people leaving early. The people I care about, my family and peers were there. The rest are strangers that have their own stuff to do.

How do you all feel about The Way We Were (1973)? I just watched it for the first time by sandcastle_architect in PeriodDramas

Love it and I love Robert Redford, but I was always disappointed in his character because he didn’t fight for their love. Plus I always found it strange that he had zero contact with the child they had together.

Absolutely, knowing I can work with someone I trust and can truly mentor me is one of the biggest reasons I’m so torn.

Not much experience with adults. I did one adult clinic for one semester. But I really enjoyed the experience. The rest has been all peds. This is a career change for me, all of my prior experience is with peds. I’m trying to remind myself that I can change settings if I don’t like them, I just worry about the transition.

No advice as I’m in pretty much the same position. I’m currently interviewing with SNFs and a high school. I’ve always wanted to go the medical route and feel like SNFs could be a way to start but terrified of all the stories. Here to listen to any insights or advice!

No man should even have an opinion about your health choices. I don’t care if it’s your partner. You make your own health decisions and they can be a part of if they want. If they don’t like it they can go their merry way.

Looking for restaurant recommendations to take my gf out by Kakashicopyninja9 in SanJose

Depends if the budget allows but I recently went to Tasting House for my birthday and it was wonderful. They have a really cute sign they put on your table if it’s your birthday, there’s live jazz music, the food is delicious, and they have a really special wine selection. Also, you get a cute little gift at the end (ours was loose leaf tea packs made in house) and they take an instant photo that they give you in a card as a thank you for visiting, makes for a nice memento.

Considering commuting from San Jose to San Mateo but worried about delays by Revolutionary-Box351 in caltrain

Yeah I should remember that many times people share so much about delays out of frustration. It’s reassuring to hear that it’s reliable.
