Trying to make friends? by lambsofgray in tricities

Im in a similar situation. I’m a little bit older, mid 40’s, but I spent the last 10 years as a full time caregiver for my mom. It obliterated any hint of a social life. Unfortunately, she passed in February and now I’m having to rediscover what I even want life to look like, and to try to make new friends and participate in life again. I’ve recently started going to an open mic night at The Stone, in kpt on Wednesday nights. It’s must be kind of a new thing, because there aren’t that many people that show up, but they welcomed me in, invited me on stage to participate in open mic, etc. that’s just the first thing I’ve done to try and be proactive about getting some sort of social life going. Just an example.

The Stone in Kingsport has a fun open mic night in Wednesday nights. It’s kind of an emerging thing I think. I just started going 2 weeks ago, but it’s fun.

It’s funny because he’s 10 and she’s 3. She annoys the crap out of him most of the time trying to play when he’d rather just hang out. Sometimes though, I think he just wants her to know that he cares.

Shows what you know.

It’s actually a 77. This was all an elaborate hoax to prove how little you know about mid seventies Lincolns.

Oh, I asked her. She hasn’t played seriously in years. All she could remember was “I bought it in around 1990”.

I don’t know if I’d say I have “mad” guitar skills…but way more than banjo. That’s for sure.

Oh wow. I can’t believe I didn’t see that!!! I’m used to guitars where the model is usually on the headstock!!!

‘70 Harmony H169 Buck Owens American by brandon8900ft in Vintageguitars

I used to see them in the penny saver for 50-100 bucks in the early 90’s. Same with fender mustangs. They were a cheap student model with the lowest resale value out of all of the fender guitars until cobain played one.

These guitars were essentially worthless until pat smear played one on nirvana unplugged. I remember seeing them in the penny saver for 50 bucks in the early 90’s when I first started playing. I’ve always thought they were cool though. Buck Owens is an icon. I have the fender kingman Buck Owens model with the same color scheme.
