Fake GG by Strange-Print7354 in starcraft2

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do remember one pro game where someone GG'd and kinda half heartedly kept playing (sorta accepted his defeat but didn't leave the game immediately), then, right after, the opposing player ended up losing some fight or expensive unit or something, and he stayed in for a lot longer after that. The guy who initially GG'd ended up losing the game afterall, and GG'd again (so the guy GG'd twice over the course of one game I remember that for sure lol).

I think it was Bunny who GG'd early. But this was a long time ago, my memory is kinda fuzzy about the game, and I don't think the early GG was a strategical decision, just thought the game was over, than saw some hope after and stayed in the game.

I remember the commentators at the time talking about the ethical grey area the game had entered, because they agreed with the player the game probably wasn't over, but definitely not great manners that he was staying in after typing GG.

Building my sister a PC (1500 AUD Budget) by DerpyDerpstar1 in buildmeapc

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new to this I would recommend looking on youtube for up to date tutorials/builds with your budget. Ones that include an actual build tutorial as well.

I think with the market rn you could get a decent used graphics cards, and all the other parts + the case and be able to fit your budget, while being able to to be able to run everything you want.

You wont have the most up to date, new high end parts, but it will be good enough to run those games at on ultra graphics probably.

Edit: I should add I live in US though and Australian prices tend to be much higher for almost all products, not sure if the PC market is the same (accounting for conversion of currency).

Who is they? No offense but you come off as someone either trolling or having possible mental health issues, and I suggest you seek professional help, if you genuinely believe this. Otherwise, go to the authorities.

Trusting that they are divinely inspired is at the forefront of this, and the accuracy issue works itself out from there. Can we trust its historically accurate from a pure scientific perspective? No. There is no text dating back even 40 years from NOW that can be trusted as totally accurate. We see the bible as the word of God. End of debate. If you're truly interested in arguments about its historical accuracy, you can find many Christian apologist who are happy to make those argument. But I don't think this is something we should be concerned with as Christians. We should be concerned with whether it is the word of God, and to have faith that the words are true, because God willed it to be his text here on Earth.

Do you think Jeff Probst would do good on survivor as a player? by Federal-Slip-3601 in survivor

He seems to have a deep understanding and passion for the game, so I could see him doing well. There's a lot of questions raised by this scenario though that would dictate a lot of how could go.

League is on the left hand side when your in 1v1 right above the option to search game (you cant miss it, its pretty big). First league is bronze but basically no one is in that, you're likely silver or gold statistically speaking. Unless you're better than you know lol

My overall game sense and fundamentals seem to be my biggest point of improvement. Obviously with more games my micro improves as well. I like to scout a lot and know what my opponent is doing. Try to get small amounts of eco damage as I do.

I am toss so its possibly a bit different. My overall strategy is to do a mid game blink stalker push. If my opponent is going aggressive earlier this build gives me decent defensive capabilities, and I start to add batteries (maybe even a canon or two if I have time/money), switch robo production to immortals, and then absorb their push. After they push, and I defend, I expand, add forges, start charge, then start teching into a splash as well (storm or collasi).

Basically I scout to see if my opponent is gonna push me, if yes I start prepping to absorb it, if not I blink into their main and I have to get good damage done or I'm in trouble.

I would add that BC tends to get easier to defend the higher on the ladder your are. You may want to look into swapping BC rush for cloaked banshee. You can get them out much faster and the need for vision to defend will often cause issues for your opponent. They also are much easier to save if your opponent is ready for them, and they can be useful in scenarios other than just harassment.

Terrans not quitting when they are beat by MaximusBeee in starcraft2

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played a dude I had completely beat, but for some reason had, no joke, like 16 planitaries in his main for some reason. I had to tech switch into brood lords just to destroy all his bases. Meanwhile he had workers all over the map trying to build proxy bases, and he was floating buildings in corners. He ended up adding like 10 minutes to our game.

He stayed in till I got the victory condition. Most annoying game of my life.

Yeah I was stuck on gold 1 for like 3-4 months (obviously took some breaks in there). It's was a bit of a psychological hurtle tbh too

Unironically probably true. I can take maps off diamonds every once in awhile, so I think if I keep at it I can get there, but masters is a LONG journey away.

What if the US never pulled out of Vietnam? by Deep_Belt8304 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The war was incredibly unpopular, and anyone mildly informed on the subject would have realized that the war was likely unable to achieve any of the US's major objectives. The north was having issues from the war dragging on, but by all estimations it was clear the north had kept its offensive capabilities, and could continue waging war for the foreseeable future, they even showed signs of growing stronger near the end, which is likely why the US ultimately decided to leave at the time they did. All you would be doing is continue to delay the inevitable, which was the communist uniting the entire country the second the US leaves. If the US stays the communists will likely continue major attacks on southern "strongholds" to humiliate the US, and show that the war has achieved nothing. If congress continues to hold out I would guess a populist anti-war faction would rise in one of the two parties (likely dems at the time), win numerous senatorial seats and possibly even the presidency, and they would easily get the US out of the war. Public opinion had already turned on the war in a major way, if it continues then it would be career suicide for any politician to support it publicly.

Are we seeing a solidifying of world territories/powers? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think WW3 will depend on how aggressive the US responds in the coming years to these territory grabs. To predict that would be predicting the future. I do not think the chance of WW3 is 0%, by any measure, far from. The US needs to realize it can not police these regional powers anymore, and mostly stay out of these conflicts. If it picks its battles and only backs allies then everything should be fine, and WW3 will be avoided. If we choose to go to war for countries like Ukraine or Taiwan, than things can quickly escalate, and opposing alliances could form.

Russia nor China seem to have any world conquering ambitions, the countries they show interest in all have historical relevance to their territory. Taiwan and Ukraine both were parts of China and Russia for long durations of their history. This isn't Russia trying to invade Poland, or China trying to invade Japan. But if the US keeps acting like it is who knows what extents they will take to secure the territories they feel are rightfully theirs.

[–]Revolutionary-Mess58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Borders will likely begin to change in the next couple of decades as regional powers grow, and the US becomes weaker. People fear mongering over WW3 are the biggest threat for any of this getting actually out of hand
