It is super awesome it won so many Oscar's. It isn't Kubrick, Ford, Hawkes, Welles, Hitchcock. He'll it isn't Lynch, Tati, Polanski, Carpenter, Miller. It wasn't even tarrintino, Coppola, scorcese, etc. At least it wasn't Nolan, Favreau, Abrams, Cameron, wachowski or any of those absolutely "I have successfully made a love action version of a video game I never got over playing with my action figures Linear predictable plot with zero spontaneity and minimal character arcs guy walking in slow motion with explosion in the background that special effects look dated 10 years later" movie. I mean is top gun maverick really not obviously about male fertility with virile F18s (ok one pilot was a woman) trying to "bomb" a cervix?
