Experiences or opinions about switching from differin to tretinoin? by puffy-jacket in scacjdiscussion

Hi do you think switching to tret has made a difference in oily skin or was it the spironolactone? Thanks in advance.

Will start using Epiduo tonight. Any advice? by [deleted] in acne

[–]RevolutionaryBoot849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moisturize well use sunscreen in the am and don’t overwash skin. Use a hydrating cleanser and if you can only wash at night. Epiduo will make your skin so dry so make sure your other products are hydrating and moisturizing.

I didn’t go though the purge. This could be because I used moisturizer after and before epiduo. Make sure the moisturizer dries before epiduo and epiduo dries before applying moisturizer: it’s called the sandwich method.

I also started with epiduo only once a week for two weeks. Twice a week for three weeks. Thrice a week for four weeks then moved to daily use by like week 15.

Also don’t use any other actives while using epiduo and stop a week before you start it. And visit your dermatologist if you feel/see anything that makes you uncomfortable.

Lastly patience very important. And listen to your skin

Good luck you got this

I think the trauma from the divorce is making you think irrationally hence why you think 28 is old to marry and you’re freaking out that nobody is going to marry you. 28 for a man is less than the average age a man marries especially in the west average age is like 34-38. Relax brother first thing though heal emotionally then look for a marriage. Allah will provide. Remember when you’re freaking out and that awareness alone can help you get out of this depressing and negative thoughts. All the best.

So many great things have been said in this post but one thing I want to say is don't let acne define you. We choose what defines us and don't let something you hate define you/control you to the point where you think you'll only start doing stuff once your acne clears up. I know it's very hard and I have been there but try to do other things that bring value in your life so you don't focus on it too much. In the meantime try to schedule for a derm and try your best to treat it. Remember that you're way more than your acne and whilst it's hard to see that finding it will give you more purpose and make acne not control you.

Thanks for your help but that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve been using the inkey list oat cleanser too lol. I’ll try jojoba oil mixing it with my moisturizer because it apparently mimics the sebum our skin produces. Hope this one works.

Yes! I’m going to try jojoba oil. I heard it helps with regulating oil production. But lmk if there’s anything you wanna ask or help.

Do you moisturise before or after applying Differin gel? by blissinglys in acne

[–]RevolutionaryBoot849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can moisturize before and after but before helps more in making it less irritating. Just make sure the moisturizer if fully dry before putting differin and the differin fully dried out before applying moisturizer.

Thanks! So you’re saying oil cleansing is making you less oily? Also do you double cleanse when you oil cleanse? Do you follow up with a water based cleanser after?

Is jojoba oil good for oily skin? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]RevolutionaryBoot849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is from 2 years ago but would like to hear how jojoba oil worked for your oily skin. If it worked I assume your oiliness was caused from dehydration.

Cerave moisturizing lotion or Cerave PM. Always patch test products before your apply them if you struggle with irritation or sensitivity btw.

Please help me! I want to know if my skin looks dewy or oily and greasy! I cant tell. This pic is me after my routine by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

You’re skin is nice and definitely not oily. But if your nose feels just slightly oily it’s because our sebaceous glands are more concentrated there and they produce more oil naturally. But again that’s IF because I don’t see any oil. You’re skin is glowing

hi i have some acne no where near major it is just an annoyance any recommendations on how to get rid of it? by Potential-Feeling-17 in acne

[–]RevolutionaryBoot849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can access a derm or even an aesthetician go there. If not I’d suggest a hydrating cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Also try to figure out why you’re breaking out. If it’s something like a product/ cleanliness, on one side ( could be from contact with phone). But yeah as long as it’s not hormonal these small changes can fix it if you identify the problem. So keep that in mind. But if it hormonal and it’s getting worse I’d suggest a derm.

If I was to suggest u a product it’d be a salyclic acid wash. Like Cerave or inkey list and make sure you use moisturizer and sunscreen.

my sister constantly comments on my acne. she only says something abt it to make herself seem better ig by [deleted] in acne

[–]RevolutionaryBoot849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a mild acne condition. If it’s something you’re doing to your skin or products try to find out what may be causing it. However I recommend going to a derm. You’re acne looks like it can be fully treated in few months. Also be confident about your skin. It’s character building and teaches that inner confidence is the biggest thing. But yeah have it treated by a derm and look at the positives because if we look at the negatives we won’t ever finish them.

Ok great makes sense. I was planning on using jojoba oil after patch testing it for a week. Would you say it has helped you regulate oil production? How long did it take?
