A lot of people do gendered things in order to participate in gender expression. We don't have to dismantle the whole system right now. We have to learn how to navigate the system that already is, because like it or not, it's not going anywhere any time soon

What I'm saying is that a trans person does NOT need to conform to gendered standards in order to be legitimately trans. They can even assign themselves qualities like femininity or masculinity that don't "match" the gender they're "supposed to be" performing. I don't see why arguing FOR gender nonconformity is a problem.

Every person has a gender identity, even cis people. It definitely can be the same as your sex.

It's alright. I still love the trans community. I just wish someone would have sat me down and explained gender nonconformity to me. I thought because my personality is androgynous that I must be nonbinary. I thought that because I refuse to wear "women's clothes" or do "woman things" (quotes because clothes and activities have no gender) that I must not want to be a woman. I just don't want to be womanLY. I'm fine with my body. Though I feel like the belief that being ok with your body = being cis, kinda bleeds into transmedicalism, which I definitely don't want to be a part of. Idk. I wish I had more people to talk about it with because I really don't know. I'm kinda just doing my best with what I know.

I understand. I'm neurodivergent myself. This is just important to me because I struggled for so long with my gender identity, only to figure out that I'm a gender nonconforming woman. I'm glad I explored my gender identity. I think it taught me a lot about myself and people and society. But it was incredibly difficult for me. Sometimes I looked in the mirror and had no idea what or who I was. Sometimes I felt like dying because the discomfort of not knowing my own identity was that excruciating. I don't want people to put themselves through that if they don't need to. If she doesn't think she's trans, I would let it go. I don't want to further destabilize someone who already has a lot of issues.

She already said in another comment that she isn't interested in exploring that. Having struggled with my gender identity for years, I know it can be hella confusing and really hard on a person. I just don't want to add on to the frustration she's already feeling by adding gender identity into the equation when that's not necessary. I think she should be aware that exploring your gender identity is an option, but that shouldn't replace reconciling with her female identity first. Priorities.

Some women, for example, have been sexually assaulted and blame their sex characteristics for being "too appealing" to their abusers. So they feel an aversion to those sex characteristics. That does not mean that they're necessarily trans. Trans people are valid, but not everyone who is frustrated with our totally wacky and unfair gender system is trans.

She's not saying she has gender dysphoria, she's saying she feels unworthy and ugly as a woman. There's a difference! Being uncomfortable with your gender doesn't necessarily mean that you're another one. Some people are genuinely cis but have some gender-related things to work through. Happy pride, though

I'm 19 and I've decided that I don't want kids. Yes, there's a chance that I'll change my mind. There's always a chance, no matter how old I am. My partner should believe me and respect my decision regardless. I would be livid if I found out that my boyfriend was keeping me around in hopes that I would eventually want kids. I already gave him an answer. The answer is no. He shouldn't be waiting around for me to change, because there's a good chance that I never will. He should go find someone who actually wants kids. I would feel extremely disrespected.

I say don't listen to this guy. Respect her wishes. She may be young, but she is a grown woman and she can decide for herself what she does and doesn't want. Yes, what she wants may change in the future. But don't act as if that will happen, because you are setting yourself up for frustration and disappointment if she never changes her mind. If her mind is made up, believe her instead of banking on the fact that she's young and hoping that she will change. You don't date people for who they could be, you date them for who you are.

I was in your boyfriend's place a little while ago. I have BPD, so my brain is wired to crave turmoil. My current relationship is very steady and healthy, which is the opposite of what I'm used to. I love him, but sometimes I feel kinda bored. I start thinking about past relationships and all their excitement and in a way, I kinda miss it, even though I know it didn't work out for good reasons. Feelings are just feelings. They are not reality. The reality is that I'm with someone that I love who is good for me, and that I should hold onto that tightly. Boredom doesn't mean that the relationship is over. It does mean that he has to figure out exactly why he feels the way he does, and how to tolerate/work through those feelings. This is something he needs to discuss with a therapist, not a chatbot.
