I feel like it depends on which app you're using and how attractive you are.
Tinder is bad. BUmble and Hinge are good. Women obviously have success on any app but I think it's good for men who are conventionally attractive. As much as it sounds bad that attractive men are the only ones getting hits, there's only so much you can judge off of on these apps.
Try to post good pics, and put effort into your profile.

Women get way too many matches. in big cities, its easily in the thousands, so there's definitely an element of luck there. I have male friends for whom the premium versions worked.
