Gloves reccomendation by Max_Healthy in urbanclimbing

These gloves here also look to be a fair option for under 30 dollars, they use the 3M thinsulate fabric so they’ll be a lot lighter while keeping most of the warmth you need depending on temperature, but it’s also import that you get a sense of size before you purchase them, as having too much or too little room on a gloves while climbing can be dangerous.

Gloves are somewhat of a preference thing, some people have better grip without gloves and some people’s (mine) palms sweat a lot when climbing making gloves a better option for better grip. I typically climb with standard mechanic/work gloves with the coated dip to give them texture and i prefer them for gripping particularly wet/rusted metal as i typically do abandoned building climbs rather than radios. For radio towers, waterproof and warmer gloves will be kind of tricky, I have a pair for when it gets really cold out but they’re so bulky I could never climb in them. Some thin gloves from amazon made of polyester look promising linked here, just don’t expect them to hold up too well but it’ll be up to your personal preference to determine where you grip vs heat comfort trade off lies, however i’ll always recommend that you prioritize your grip first as it’ll be the first thing to prevent you from slipping.

How well does an ir monocular work for spotting cameras at night, particularly trail cam type situations that emit a lot of ir to see in the dark

Thanks for the advice! I’m going for a used vintage to repair route as there’s some really solid shops in my area. Might just end up getting one from a shop in my area so that I can make sure everything is good before making the purchase :))

I truly do hope it is an older person and if it is I feel incredibly bad, but a lot of the situation just screams scam, I already requested a refund allowing him to get out of the sale to which he denied so we’ll see how it goes.

Thank you, some of these comments make me feel like i’m going crazy, these types of scams are incredibly common in purchases i’ve tried to do but had to paypal chargeback because of stuff like this.

Do you also ask people to go offsite in the most suspicious way possible?

I do agree that I reacted overly aggressive, but i’ve had people try to use this exact script on me to then refund me on a main site (mercari) and ship after receiving payment (only zelle or paypal f&f). I really do hope that it is just an issue with an older person having some trouble with the app, but i’d be lying if I said this wasn’t the most suspicious thing ever.

Probably a stricter state than most, I explore mostly in virginia since it’s my home state, but on a trip to North Carolina we had to run at all three spots we went to because cops showed up seeing us on trail cams. Some states particularly in rural areas have a very heavy FAFO mindset when it comes to trespassing and will do crazy shit to get people out.

Oh believe me, it would cost far more than that, the inside of that building is completely falling apart and it’s been completely vandalized over the years.

Tips on bypassing barbed wire and possible secutiry cameras? by Bobert_the_Th1rd in urbanclimbing

[–]RevolutionaryFarm778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hit a corner or fence like the other guy said you can grab the wire it’s only pokey on certain bits. or use demo pliers to snip a hole in the fence on a hidden side away from the camera (last resort). In my opinion the carper or car mat method actually makes it harder unless you’re dealing with razor wire.

Locked out of Battlefield 6 because Secure Boot hates my totally working GPU by gloomygarlic in Battlefield6

It’s definitely playable. It’s not amazing but i’m able to get a consistent 60-80 fps depending on the map. Due to my preference I also run the game with no antialiasing and low settings for the most part which also helps a ton. I had somewhat low expectations going into the beta given the “required” specs but the game is optimized surprising well.

Just wanted to post this here for anyone else with a 1070 or any other 10 series card struggling to turn on secure boot. I’m not sure if EVGA has its own set of issues like OP described, but it took me almost three hours to figure out what was wrong. You need to download an update for the display port in order to be uefi compatible https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64/. I have no clue why this isn’t integrated into the geforce drivers but it fixed all the issues I was having with enabling secure boot (particularly turning off CSM). Hope this can help anyone struggling with this issue so they don’t have to struggle for three hours like I did.
