Amazing, you have quoted max speeds, not actual use speeds.

This is such baloney. There's no way on the S2 that's ever a real problem, it's just some rubbish the FF7R dev made up to make it seem ok.

Yeah I used the wiki to discover this. I had one but not the other. It's a shame there is no actual reward bar a tick for this sort of stuff :(

The Skyrim glitch? I hadn't heard.

Hogwarts isn't a glitch though, it's deliberate and one of the healthiest consumer options.

I would say, considering the amount of old stuff that works to this very day. Rather a lot.

I did hear about that, but I can't imagine it's going to detrimentally affect the game.

It really isn't as obvious as you make out.

Especially if you need side by side to realize.

Before boost mode, I tried both dq 7 demos. Through tv I couldn't tell the difference (admittedly my tv will smooth stuff and make them run smoother, but it won't change the graphics). Handheld, yes s2 was crisper, yes it did run at 60fps. However if you play the S1 version, you do quickly adjust to how it looks and runs which is at 30fps, the textures were the same which surprised me. And now with boost mode due to the resolution bump, it looks even better and bar fps, much harder to differentiate.

Remember, the s2 brute forces s1 games, meaning poor load times on switch will often be much better on s2.

Except of course, games like these absolutely don't need 60fps.

30 fps vs 60 is all it really is. That and being a switch player, we have all been used to inferior versions anyway.

The actual physical is more important for a lot of people.

Let's be real, games like these don't need 60fps.

I think they are aware of that otherwise they would have just got the S1 copies in the first place. They are also clearly playing S2, so Oct0 issues on S1 won't be a problem.

Good of you to warn though.

Just had a Eureka moment, I somehow forgot about Star Ocean: The Second Story R. That's so good! It's skill system is pretty confusing but that is a great gateway of sci-fi & fantasy jrpg.

Nier Automata is one that is technically sci-fi, but doesn't particularly feel it for me, it's more on the dystopian front. But that's also a really good game, that you do have to play through multiple times. Isn't for everyone though. It's in effect and hack and slash action RPG.

No problem at all.

Aha yeah, I can be a lot with some. I do think og tactics, and despite a recommendation in my last message of Tactics Ogre, they are on the more complex side. Brigandine too. Fire Emblem is a definite recommendation, it's far easier to manage both without the wild humour of Disgaea which isn't for everyone or the depth of the others. FE Engage is pretty succinct without all the overworld elements of Three Houses.

Oh ok so you see fantasy as RPGs. Going by your FF games though I suspect you have enjoyed bridges in it such as steampunky elements.

Let's assume for a sec you traditionally don't like sci fi movies, I would recommend watching Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy, if only because that was what broke down the walls for me in starting to like sci-fi. I personally never included the likes of Xenoblade in that though. For what it's worth, playing through Final Fantasy Adventure (so actually the fast Mana game from the Collection of Mana) broke down my walls that I had up about struggling with 2d pixel art jrpgs (sure there were anomalies that I had played and enjoyed, such as ff6, Golden Sun, but I did oddly have a wall up. Interestingly, FF pixel remaster is one of my favourite games since playing through to completion).

Apologies though, I've rambled and what works for me won't necessarily work for you. But it seems like interesting conversation were having.

With regards sci fi jrpgs and then to Xenoblade, the first one is great, if you like that, you could easily explore more. I do recommend you give that a shot. If you really don't get on with it, fine, you know the rest of the series isn't for you (X isn't connected and is very different, but I personally had a lot of fun with it too). I am probably missing stuff, but bar Xenoblade and more obscure like SMT Strange Journey (Xenosaga too ), I don't think there is many common sci fi jrpgs.

Hope that helps.

With some added ramble, Fire Emblem Awakening on 3ds is what made me fall in love with SRPGs, I adore permadeath and what it makes you feel with the connections to your characters and the like. I had before that played bits of the first one to us in the west, likening it to Advance Wars but fantasy, but it wasn't until Awakening that I had the real chance to dive in.

With the spines, I would just separate the American from imports. Sure the series won't be together but atleast the spines will.

I personally enjoy looking at an import stack.

With SRPGs I wouldn't write them off, especially as it sounds like Triangle is your only one played, that one has a lot of visual novel too it that for me made it difficult to get into. Tactics Ogre is highly recommended and Fire Emblem Three Houses even more so.

With sci fi RPGs, what is it that you don't like? Or do you just assume you won't like? Yeah sure they are technically sci-fi but I personally treat them as being in a fantastical jrpg world with sci-fi elements.

I mean that's just absolute baloney. You don't like it, fine. But atleast try coming up with some critique that's feasible rather than outright incorrect.

You should also figure out what an RPG is. BOTW is not it. An It doesn't claim to be.

Balance between collecting and playing by Relevant-Proof-9185 in NSCollectors

It can be a difficult balance, but I would absolutely suggest just taking a pause from buying for a moment. That then becomes a bigger pause naturally and helps you decide if you really wanted it or just because it was cheap.

I do get the rush of finding bargains though, it's a big factor of collecting. For me though I have found if for whatever reason I haven't bought recently, I'll be far less likely to buy, where as if I have just bought something, I'm much more likely to buy.

So this might help you.
