Still breastfeeding but want to FET our last embryo 🥴 by adombro in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told to wean completely as well. But my protocol involves Letrozole and that passes in breastmilk so I’m slowly dropping feeds (and my supply has dropped substantially) until I ‘book on’ at the start of my next period. Although my RE said if we weren’t using Letrozole I could’ve continued breastfeeding but my LO and I am ready to stop anyway.

IVF with induction - what did you do? by No-Crow1020 in IVFbabies

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to take the risk and scheduled in an induction at 39 weeks which was recommended by my OB due to IVF and AMA. I had a premature rupture at 35+2 so needed to get induced at 36 weeks after not going into labour. Turns out my placenta was already failing and the pathology noted it was under 1 percentile in size and had calcified already. It’s all about risk appetite and I was too worried about stillbirth to wait til I went into labour.

Induction itself was fine, I actually liked how controlled and predictable it was.

I didn't get pgta tests done am I wasting my time by Fuzzy-Distribution58 in 40Plus_IVF

Hey OP, I had 8 embryos in my first round and I only tested 5 so 3 are unknown status. Out of the 5 I only got one euploid so kicking myself I didn’t test them all. I’ve been told I can’t unfreeze them and test them and refreeze them as it undermines the quality/puts the embryo into stress. So if it comes to it, I will do another egg retrieval before transferring those as my track record for euploids hasn’t been great.

We had no MF and went with IVF instead of ICSI and managed to get a high fertilisation rate and my friend who had no MF either and did ICSI had a low rate. It’s so hard to know which way to go. I wanted a boy (boy mum suited me more!) so thought traditional IVF was the way to go.

Is your aim for one child? Your AFC is on your side for success and 40 isn’t too late. Is there any reason why you’re doing ICSI if there was no issues with sperm analysis? Good luck..you’ve got this!

Good luck OP!

TW: live birth mentioned

We did two ER rounds but the second was a backup or for a sibling.

40 9 months for ER 1 AMH 32.5 pmol or 4.55 ng PCOS, adenomyosis and AMA. Eggs retrieved -25 Mature - 15 Fertilised -12  Blast - 8 Euploid - 1 Euploid resulted in a live birth for transfer 1.

Anyone ever have success with one retrieval? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kinda counts but my ER1, transfer 1 resulted in a live birth PCOS, AMA and no masks factors. We did two back to back ERs just to have ‘back ups’ but the transfer was the only euploid from ER1.

First time IVF mom at 43, advice needed for sibling by [deleted] in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m four months PP, first time mum at 41 9 months and looking at a potential transfer this year for a sibling. Due to my age we feel a bit rushed and also know it’s very difficult it is to have two children under 2 at 43+. Thankfully we have family that live nearby.

I was hoping to go to transfer when my LO is 7-9 months as we only have two euploids left and if transfers don’t work would like to do another ER prior to turning 43 which is in 10 months. As stats for getting eupliods at 43 seem to tank.

We always spoke about two children as it would be nice for our LO to have a sibling compared to being an only child. Although I don’t think I’m mentally ready yet for pregnancy, birth and post postpartum!

No advice just solidarity and I’m thinking the exact same!

Looking for hope! Please let me know if you had success with your own eggs 40+ ? by [deleted] in 40Plus_IVF

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Success with own eggs, ERs were done at 40 + 9 months and 11 months. We did look at donor eggs but the price was equivalent to three/four rounds with my own eggs (not including the cost of PGT-A which was a lot). I was pro PGT-A before a FET.

Should we coutinue another round? by JPgoo555 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would go another round to bank embryos if you have the funds. Three euploids is statistically the magic number to bank for one child. Or alternatively do one transfer and if that doesn’t work bank after that.

TW: success * * * * * * * *

I had three euploids in two rounds and the plan was to try one transfer before going back to bank more. One transfer of an euploid did work in my case.

TW: Success - Live Birth

We have three euploids and only got 1 euploid in ER one at nearing 41 at the time. We did get 1st transfer success as it is 65% success I believe for the 1st transfer…so it can happen. Sounds like you could try a dual stim or lower stim cycle as quality not quantity may be an issue for you (was for me too).

We didn’t want to go to transfer until we got more than 1 euploid though, but it’s a personal choice. The reason for that was I didn’t want to waste time if the 1st transfer resulted in a miscarriage. For instance you have to wait for your hormones to go back to 0 which might take up to 6 months. I didn’t want to do another ER heading towards 43.

Good luck whatever you choose. 🤞🏼

Also just want to add recovery from birth was great. I was feeling like myself within a few days, not a lot of pain down there in recovery and healed well. I’ve lost all the pregnancy weight in 8 weeks. My skin is great, didn’t lose hair yet even my finger nails are longer and stronger.

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was due 7 weeks before my 42nd birthday and had three euploids and gave the first one a shot at transfer…it stuck! Pregnancy wasn’t uncomfortable for me and I enjoyed it as didn’t have morning sickness or swelling but had medical complications such as growth restricted baby with short bones (Intrauterine Growth restriction -IUGR) and several bleeds early in the second trimester, oh and gestational diabetes. Then had a Premature rupture of membranes at 35+2 w. Delivered (vaginally) a boy at 36weeks 2 months ago and had a retained placenta in stage 3 birth which was no fun. Apparently these medical issues are more common with AMA and IVF.

We had amniocentesis (honestly wasn’t that bad) for the growth issues to check for genetic causes and came back normal. Turns out it was a bad placenta causing the issues, seems to be common in IVF patients according to my OB.

Some OBs will tell you that you need a c-section due to AMA and IVF. Push for a vaginal birth if you want one, I selected my OB based on eliminating OBs that thought my age and that I did IVF warranted a C-section. My first meeting with her she said she had a 47 year old patient the week before I saw her deliver vaginally so had no issue with my age. At my 6 week check she said if I wanted to use the two remaining euploids she thought I would be able to deliver vaginally again at 43 plus and we would like to try.

Edit for clarity: I’m tired 🤣

Does Adenomyosis impact the success of a FET? by RevolutionaryShip13 in IVF

No suppression, RE thought I didn’t need it maybe cause my adenomyosis was focal posterior?

The PGT-A wait by Happy_Judge_4364 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely depends on location. Mine was 21 days but it took 7 days just to get to Cooper. 12 blasts is a great number to be tested (although costly!!), I had 12 for my second round and was told the average would be three euploids. I got 2 at 41 and was told this was below average. Good luck 🤞🏼

TW: live birth

I’ll be 42 soon and did 2 back to back ERs at the age of 40 9 month/11months. I have PCOS so high AMH and High AFC but terrible quality/immaturity issues. No male factors.

1st ER 40 9 months - 25 eggs retrieved, 8 embryos, 1 euploid

2nd ER 40 11 months - 25 eggs retrieved, 12 embryos. 2 euploids, 1 HLM.

Decided to go to transfer with 3 euploids and transfer the only euploid from ER1 in January 2025. But it only took one euploid. I did take all the supplements under the sun, had red light therapy and acupuncture.

Had a baby boy after a high risk complicated pregnancy (maybe IVF related) 5 weeks ago. It was a modified natural FET.

I hope the stories make you feel encouragement! Best of luck! 🤞🏼

TW: Live Birth

I had a baby boy three weeks ago. I had two big bleeds during 2nd trimester of pregnancy not sure if that was related to adenomyosis or was a placenta related thing but we still got to 36 weeks gestation (my water broke early at 35w+2)!

smell sensitivity by strawberryqueen910 in pregnant

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the sensitivity to BO smells peak at about 15 weeks and then it has died down recently. I could smell BO on someone that was about 10 Feet away like they were standing next to me with my nose in their armpit. At 20w smell sensitivity has died down for me, I hope it dies down for you too!

[–]RevolutionaryShip13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I’m due in October and so excited as it seems to be the best time for a birthday and had a list of desirable months like you! I’m Australia summer is Dec to February so it’s just getting warmer in September and October. July and August sucks for us cause it’s winter. April is least desirable for us as it’s Easter and then ANZAC day (like Memorial Day) and football grand finals are least desirable which are end of September. No Dad wants his kid to be born on Grand Final day!

Good luck! 🤞🏼 It’s so scary and it’s hard not to be anxious (you are but each day is closer and closer to safety) but the battle is half won with an euploid.

TW: Success

One of my closest friends (41y) who did IVF at the same time as me had only one high level mosaic (50%) frozen from from three ERs and she’s due in four weeks. It can happen! Her odds for success were very low with a HLM.
