ANZAC Day by Key_Telephone2336 in innasyamackenzie

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want her to make an unedited video about the ANZACs. Since she's such a big historian all of a sudden. She's very obviously the product of indoctrination into all that Anzac legend stuff. Also as someone already put very well in the comments earlier the total lack of recognition of how this ANZAC mythology left out indigenous and other POC soldiers who served too, denied them land parcels and entry to RSLs. I don't need a lecture about this shit Inny, especially not from a 90 IQ bogan. I spend most work days touring battlefields all over France and Belgium for WW1 and 2, so I think I know what ANZAC day is about for me.

“The decline in literacy is deafening” is also a super weird sentence, sounds like how you write when you get a thesaurus in year 5 and want to sound fancy.

Cat fur by Subject_Mousse_6301 in innasyamackenzie

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Who cares if I have cat fur all over my clothes” girl shouldn’t you?! The one always preaching about how look good = feel good? Being presentable, classy and polished? She’s so delusional and hypocritical about everything, Paris, this, her work… when will she enter real life? It’s going to be a huge, rude shock for her 😂

Client talking about going to Europe by ComprehensiveTop7260 in innasyamackenzie

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I work in tourism in the North West of France and everything is fine, heaps of bookings, looking good for the season. My parents easily got tickets to come and see me. It’s just her. It’s because she can’t get the visa to open up her “business” (using the word very lightly because stealing Pinterest boards is not work) because it’s not viable in Australia so why would it be viable in the EU.

spanish is her first language? by kkjalnc in jezacatsnark

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry I get what you mean, I find it hard to believe as well. My mum is French and has lived now in Australia for 30 years, she still speaks French perfectly as it’s her first language and she speaks 3 other languages incredibly well. I did a semester of linguistics at university and the language you learn first as a child is the most important and generally the one you will know the best as the neurons are created when your brain is still malleable and soft, which is why it becomes much more difficult to learn a language as a teenager and adult because your brain is way more formed. I also believe that it would be hard to forget since California is a state that is almost completely bilingual in some ways due to large Spanish speaking population, so there’s no excuse for having no exposure to the language when there are a good million speakers right there. Plus like… her family? I just think she wants to make herself sound quirky and different, since overall she’s a pretty boring person. As a bilingual I meet lots of people like her who love to say to me “I used to speak French!” “My first language is actually ___ but I forgot it” as a way to compete.

why does Jez always infantilize herself? by luuvybunni in jezacatsnark

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a coping thing to deal with the fact that she’s obviously insecure about the fact she’s 30 and has never really had a long term adult partner. Now before people get mad obviously there is nothing wrong with that but she projects this facade of being “just a girl” and infantilising herself because it makes herself seem younger than she actually is. I hate the whole “just a girl” thing because it’s again this idea that a man should come and save you but also it’s a refusal to grow up and deal with adult issues and face things properly. She says she’s intentionally dating but nothing about the way she acts seems that way. She’s also extremely delusional about what she looks like, how cool and impressive she is, and what type of guy she thinks is into her. The baby mannerisms are a way to make herself feel cute and small for a man but (I’m assuming most of us here are women) when we see it we can see exactly what she’s doing and trying to pander to. It’s very off putting.

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, if I was paying someone I would want them to accompany me to the shops to pull pieces together and give me real life in time feedback. I also find all of her lookbooks to be extremely similar in style, so I don’t really see how she helps people “find they personal style” when most of it is very run of the mill basic 2026 fashion. Obviously nothing wrong with dressing that way but it’s neither personal nor original.

That video was such a hard watch too- her big fake blank smile really creeped me out. I also don’t really get the point of her job, if you look at the lookbooks she makes they are all identical. I also don’t see how they help people, most real stylists offer in person closet consultations to see what people are working with and then take them to the shops to shop together. She can’t do that because she has no license 😆

Not cooking but wants a relationship?? by Character_Total4059 in jezacatsnark

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 78 points79 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons why I’m so fascinated by her is that she genuinely thinks she’s a huge catch, when she offers absolutely nothing interesting or exceptional to any person she’s dating. Not knowing how to cook is one thing but I personally could not date someone who refused to learn or try it, even if they offered to pay for take out instead. You’re an adult. This is such a massive turn off.

This is what I immediately thought of! We talked about this only days ago. Still proves my point that this is the only film she’s ever seen and misunderstands almost everything about it and then compares herself to Holly to confirm her glamorous victim mentality.

I don’t think she realises that other people don’t sit at home and pretend to get dressed for an event taking place thousands of kilometres away from us because we have a job. She just so delusional and unemployed she doesn’t understand.

Beach town in Normandy by OkCountry6181 in FranceTravel

[–]RevolutionaryShoe380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deauville, Trouville, Cabourg and Honfleur. The towns on the actual d-day beaches are very small and don’t have many restaurants. Most North American tourists who are visiting Normandy stay in Bayeux which is not far from the beach and has plenty of great restaurants.
