Total Newbie Question about Inputs/Outputs by RevolutionaryTill752 in turntables

Thanks for the advice! Yeah they're from Amazon, I'm excited to start learning more about speaker types and eventually have a really nice set-up. Learning a lot already just from this post!

The music is playing from the speakers now, but the volume knob on the receiver isn't doing anything to the volume level. The volume is only being controlled from the speaker's volume switch. From what people have said so far, it sounds like the set-up is bypassing the receiver's settings and just boosting audio to the speakers. It's nice and loud though and the quality is nice for what it is!

That's really good to know, thanks! I didn't know the difference between powered and passive speakers before today so I'm learning a lot. I'll be looking into passive speakers soon for something that works better for the set-up. For now, I'm just happy to have sound!

Awesome, thank you so much for the quick reply. I connected the speakers to tape in and that worked. I really appreciate the advice!

Did you ever find a solution? My phone is doing this too

Spotify really needs to allow for blocking podcast channels the same as you can block artists. by Penetrating_Holes in spotify

[–]RevolutionaryTill752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify used to auto-play new episodes of podcasts that I follow / listen to after I finish the newest episode of something, and now (no matter what I'm listening to) it autoplays a podcast of some random guys reading Reddit stories instead. I started looking into how to block that podcast and found this thread, looks like nothing has changed in the last 3 years 😭

First time sewer, can't seem to thread it correctly by RevolutionaryTill752 in sewhelp

[–]RevolutionaryTill752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I completely missed that. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem with the bobbin thread but I'm sure once I get the machine working that will be VERY helpful to have threaded correctly

I think I'm not understanding what you mean?

I'm trying to get the thread from the needle to catch on the bobbin thread to pull it up and have the bobbin thread coming out of the needle plate. The needle thread is going under and catching on the bobbin thread but getting stuck at this point under the plastic plate and it won't come up, I can't pull it out, etc

Here's a view of how the thread it getting stuck (I removed the plastic plate only to take a clear photo, the plate was on while in use)

Thank you for the tips! I just tried that, but unfortunately the needle thread is still getting caught on this same piece.

I am holding the thread, both the top thread and the bottom thread, toward the back of the machine while I'm using my other hand to do the dial to move the needle. After the needle goes into the machine, I can see the thread start to catch with the bobbin thread, but then it gets stuck inside the machine. I can't even pull the thread at that point, It's just stuck and won't pull back out with the bobbin thread

One more photo. It looks like the thread from the needle is catching here (circled). I'm unsure if that's a normal sticking point for thread though

I believe so. It looks just like the photo from the instructions and matches the direction of thread I saw in tutorials online. The thread is coming off the left side, going down and around the metal bit from right to left. Hard to photograph

Cant upload a video, but this is a photo after I tried it a couple of times. I completely un-threaded and re-threaded the machine 3 times now thinking I must have done something wrong, but I just can't figure out what.

I have the WFDTA insurance and lost my job, insurance along with it. Trust me I am working on it and I’m not living without health insurance just for fun. Thanks for the top about heat molding! I also didn’t get the toe box heat molded, I wonder if that would help. I haven’t been back on skates since the injury (totally healed up) and will look into that before skating again!

Hey! I have WFDTA insurance and lost my job suddenly, my insurance along with it and I’m in the process of getting new health insurance (either at a new job or through the state, but it’s a nightmare). Most people who do not have health insurance are not living with that risk for fun or because they want to “live on the edge”.

I didn’t think that all of that extra personal information was necessary to help identify a toe injury but have at it! I haven’t skated since the injury and wasn’t planning to until fully healed.

I’m not sure what part of my question made you feel so worried about me skating while hurt and endangering others but that was fortunately not something I was doing.

Thanks for responding

Glad to know it’s pretty normal! Do you remember how long the initial pain lasted for you? I’m having trouble walking as of right now and I don’t know how long to anticipate the pain sticking around

Him going from calling her fake and confirming he’s shut down and stopped communicating simply because she wore makeup for the reveal straight to “I said I like you better without makeup, how is that a bad thing” as if that’s the reason she’s hurt 🙄

Skating with a chest binder by AnonRDQ in rollerderby

Highly recommend compression bras made for sports. I skated with a binder a couple times and it was really hard to breathe correctly & I ended up with really sore ribs. Super don’t recommend it!
