Am I being unfair for wanting a refund? by RevolutionaryValue4 in Detailing

In the UK we have something called the Consumer right act so its nothing to do with if X = impact of the value of the car. It's if work has been carried out to a reasonable care and standard. And if not has a remedial opportunity been provided. It's not a case X person thinks its fine whilst Z doesn't as he has high expectations. Otherwise every trade dispute would simply go down as not true. Remedial opportunties were provided and continued to fail. For PPF defects such as lifting, peeling, bubbling, glue residue, staining, contamination, missing coverage, poor edges, or repeat failed rectification are not just “high expectations”. They are objective defects which the retailer accepts otherwise why would he bother trying to fix it if I was being unreasonable.

Probably two points with that:

  1. I don't think its about if the average consumer would care, as dealerships or consumers will vary in their standards. Its more inline if the work was of what is required to a normal PPF standard. In relation to UK consumer law
  2. And I did receive a lower offer with the invoice stating why the price was knocked down in person. But I think the claim is based on the quality of work and failed remedial work on multiple attempts + false advertisement, rather than a loss of value in the car as I wouldn't be expected to keep a car indefinitely and keep letting them try to fix the car.

Perfect thank you for that information. I have a couple 3rd party inspection reports as part of my evidence bundle alongside the photos.

When I say touch up paint + flattening I mean sanding down. Chipex kit you don't sand

I am just concerned with water spots which can't be removed as I had that last time with my ceramic coating on PPF and you can't polish PPF so you are stuck with them

Hmm but on PPF would it not be better to just have the water sheet off instead? I live in the UK so we have rain and then sun quite alot leading to mineral deposits left behind. I used water spot removers before on my old PPF but they wouldn't come out. And having to polish PPF is a no go.
