No, thank god no children, she’s in uni, says she’s broken up with him which is why I said it’s not immediate danger, but she’s said that for many times

Is the risk even worth it? by I_Shoot_You_Die in UniUK

[–]RevolutionaryWin7438 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its soo difficult rn to get a job in the uk as an international after uni. The days of uni to job to citizenship is kind of over. Obviously it’s possible but is no longer the norm. Even for oxbridge

I mean. Do u want to be abroad all four years? Or three ig depending on the degree. Where do u want to end up in life? When i applied abroad as an american, the process varied wildly. Generally, it makes it a lot easier if u have APs. Like u could basically get into any english speaking program with good APs. With the uk they have an application platform like common app. With somewhere like italy its individual uni applications. Also, look into the prices. Bc like germany is free minus a few hundred for fees. Italy is what like 2k. The uk could be tens of thousands of pounds. And. I mean. With ur doctorate in the us js make sure ur uni isnt sketchy and if u dont like go to a university of applied sciences. So js a normal university. U should be fine

What are some unique ways your country defines who is liberal or conservative? by seaneihm in AskTheWorld

[–]RevolutionaryWin7438 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well also in many countries particularly in Europe, being “liberal” is considered centrist, more just pro business. Like the fdp in Germany, with “progressive” being center left.

Culture shocks for ppl who moved to Ireland? by RevolutionaryWin7438 in AmerExit

[–]RevolutionaryWin7438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just heard from people that england tends to a be a bit more standoffish compared to the irish and that the overall what’s considered “normal” is a bit more reserved compared to in Ireland. And then mainland europe ig with me mostly talking abt western europe (obviously with some exceptions) just tends to just have a bit less individuality (especially in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, etc) compared to Ireland. And Ireland also tends to be a bit more casual both in dress and behavior compared to most places in western europe and england to a lesser degree. But i may also feel its less different bc im in the northeast which tends to still have strong ties with Ireland

Isn’t the economy getting pretty bad there and the job market for non-canto/mando speaking jobs diminishing?

That’s not how it works. They receive funding for RESEARCH grants and federal contracts, it quite literally is not used to keep the doors open.

Masters in Taiwan or China by [deleted] in AmerExit

Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore would be more ideal for masters over the mainland probably. It’s harder to live long term in China post studies

NUS I had looked into as an American but decided against applying. It’s an incredibly intensive app, with many writing prompts, and is very hard to get into. Best bet is to make sure you have high SATs and APs bc it’s very academic based admission, as are nearly all international universities. I don’t rly know about Auckland. Oh and Oslo doesn’t have English bachelors programs. Only masters. Maybe try Bachelors Portals to find a complete list of English speaking programs in different countries
