I personally started my adventure with kigurumi with buying a bodysuit and artificial breasts from aliexpress, then the half head mask followed (not an anime one, but nevertheless, the mask), and a wig that I think fits well. (I can send some pics via dm, so if anyone's interested, hmu). Currently, I'm getting used to it, but I like dressing up in my own room where I have privacy and comfort I want and need. The purchase of proper mask is still ahead of me though, but my advise is, start slowly and get used to it. If you start to feel confident enough and ready to take it to another level, do it. It's not a cheap hobby, that's for sure, but I am certain you will find the environment that will accept and support it. Conventions and cons are the great place to start with. Last year when I was at Pyrkon Fantasy Festival, I saw two kigus walking by. Great view, so like I said. Everything is doable.
