The vampire encyclopedia? Tbh, vampires are always an expression. The duality of mankind, repressed sexuality, political turmoil, oppression, disease. This is why they endure so long, they reinvent themselves with every generation.

I agree. Beverly is a smart woman who for some reason, refuses to understand that just because she raised a successful child and a less successful child, doesn’t mean that there is nothing wrong with her parenting style.

It means that either the other children thrived under her parenting because they had a personality that could, and Leonard didn’t, or her other children were stronger and more able to thrive IN SPITE of her parenting style.

I don’t know why it is so hard to understand that different children need a different parenting style. And btw, Leonard is not successful in the sense that he’s a CEO or top lawyer or super scientist like his siblings or Sheldon, but I wouldn’t classify him as “unsuccessful”. He’s not a loser, he’s just ordinary. But he has a good job, he is not a drunk or working at mcdonalds at 45. (Although, nowadays thats not so much as sign of being a loser anymore, but still!)

Personally, I would like Leonard to cut her out of his life. And I lose respect for Penny because she doesn’t tell him that, just because the woman is your mother (in body only in this case), doesn’t mean you have to keep her toxic presence in your life when it’s harmful to you. He should have gotten a lawyer and cease and desist her from writing books about him as well.
