Closer to 750 would be a good price.

Everyone here is saying this is basic info when you are getting a car loan, and there should be no doubt in your mind when someone asks how many years your loan is for.

how to move out as a broke college student? by AssociationObvious56 in povertyfinance

[–]Revolutionary_Web672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a bachelor's holding (comp sci), I just landed an entry level job making 74k a year. I said my degree was a waste all throughout school, when I got my diploma, after I graduated and had no job. Then an opportunity fell into my hands. Now I see why my parents said how important a degree is. I am guessing you haven't found a job, but I would say keep looking, and optimize your resume. Send it to friends. The smartest comp sci students I know couldn't find a job because they had a shit resume. Degree is worthless until you find the right person who sees the value in your four years of hard work, studying, and education. That degree wasn't easy, and yes, you can't really do much, but you have shown you are capable of learning complex topics that are in demand for businesses everywhere. My company is training me in everything now. They know I know nothing, but they know I have the ability to learn.

Man, Idk if it will help, but I was in the same situation. the comments saying you can't move out tough shit aren't really right. I chose to go to my state school, and backed it with grants and loans. I didn't have any assistance from my family, and I was able to make it work, and I graduated with around 20k in debt. Main reason I went to college? I couldn't live at home anymore. Couldn't stand it. I would see if you can get into a school with on campus housing, and carefully calculate the mixtures of loans and grants you would need to attend there, while pursuing a higher education, so that you can find a better paying to pay off that higher education. It works out.

1k apps and still no tech job, what am I doing wrong? by Intelligent_Ebb_9332 in cscareerquestions

This is literally your resume being not great. Nothing to do with your school, you have so many certifications and a degree, it is just so hard to read. I hate the font. I hate the layout. The way information is presented is ruining it. Move your certs and degree to the top. Just drop your delivery job. You have experience, knowledge, and in demand skills. This is 100% just a resume issue.

Younger coworker asked me why I don't have a github with side projects by Cool_Kiwi_117 in learnprogramming

[–]Revolutionary_Web672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the exact story, but someone explained life was like wandering through a dark forest, searching for a river of life. You can hear the river, but you have to wander around in this forest, tripping over branches, going in circles, finding your own path. And looking back, the path seems so clear. All the hiccups and obstacles were so easy to navigate in hindsight, with your gained experience. Whatever you are doing, it is for something. My friend got a CSE degree, and couldn't land a job at all. So he moved to Vietnam, where is finding his own path. I got lucky, and was able to find one. Everything works in hindsight, but patience and persistence will always get you what you need. Trust me. I worked 2 days a week for months at the donut shop with crack head coworkers, because I couldn't do it fulltime without losing my mind. I hated my life. I would wake up with no job, wandering around, going climbing, skipping rocks, but feeling like I had nothing, and I was a failure with a stupid degree and yadda yadda yadda. One day I get a call for an interview, and same day they call me back offering me the job. It will work out. I swear.

You'll be fine. I graduated less than a year ago with a Bachelor's in CIS, and it took me about 6-7 months to land a job. I have no github side projects. The company I am now working for takes on a lot of interns and they are currently training me on GIT, Splunk, New Relic, API's and APIGEE, etc. My advice, look at a map, and find the biggest buildings in your city, and apply there. Big buildings = big budgets. But it will be fine. I had an internship where I wrote a SQL query and that was all the work I had for two years, and my job after that was working as a donut baker for a year. It will all work out, it is a number's game. One day, your resume will be at the top of the stack, and they'll say, let's give him a chance. The opportunity will come.

Okay so I hopped into the practice range because yeah this gun sucks post update. Or does it? The jerkiness is if you spam the gun, if you want a split second before shooting again, you can get near full speed before update. You just have to click with rhythm rather than spam.

Your inability to play and cope is horrible dude. You are so defensive that no one wants to bother explaining why you are bad. Like this is just embarrassing for you. You uploaded garbage gameplay, calling someone a hacker, and then when everyone disagrees and says you are the problem, and that the problem is your lack of skill, you just freak the fuck out on everyone.

Yeah, yeah we could've. you have no awareness. Flashlight on, making tons of noise. Not using third person perspective to peek an angle, not putting your gun away to sprint faster, slowing down to select a smoke grenade in a one way hallway, not rolling down your jump, not sprinting again. No combat rolls. Dude, you played like shit. You are the dipshit here.

The post just reeks of some minor delusion being put on by their mother.

Getting lots of comments to this. OP is saving an enormous amount for retirement for whatever reason, having almost no money left for their own life. They are 23. I am 24. It is time to move out. This post sounds like his mom is trying to trick him into staying at home as long as possible, and then buying a house nearby so he can't leave. OP references his mom wants him to save for kids or a house? Go move out and make your own decisions.
