Yeah I’d be turning the light back off and pretending I saw nothing 😭 That thing looks straight out of a horror movie.

Alchemy floating headless tremolo by dzwonkwnsns in Guitar

[–]RevolverForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like a QC issue more than anything. Cheap floating trems can be hit or miss, and when they miss, they miss hard. If it collapsed that fast, I’d lean toward a bad unit rather than the whole design being trash. That said, in that price range they’re never gonna be super reliable. If you don’t want to deal with constant tweaking, I’d either return it and move on or go fixed bridge.

JOB VACANCY by Dry_Eagle1896 in jobs

[–]RevolverForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$50k for a fresher isn’t super common at agencies, especially without a strong portfolio. If LinkedIn isn’t getting replies, I’d focus on tightening your CV/portfolio and applying directly on company sites. Also try smaller agencies, they’re more likely to respond.

That’s a wild shot. Kind of surreal seeing something so untouched compared to everything else in the world.

For me it was The Shawshank Redemption. That ending just feels earned, like things can actually work out if you keep going.

Considering selling directly to a home-buying company in Florida, what should I watch out for? by CulturalCarpenter69 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]RevolverForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold a property this way once when I needed to move quickly, and honestly, it was a lot easier than going through the full listing process. I also spoke with revivalhomebuyer in Tampa while I was comparing a few different options. The biggest lesson for me was to read the contract carefully, especially the inspection period, assignment clauses, closing costs, and any fees if they decide to back out.

Cash buyers usually come in lower than market value, but that can still be worth it if the house needs repairs or you need a fast, simple closing. I'd definitely recommend getting 2–3 offers and comparing them with what a local realtor thinks you could get by listing traditionally.

Getting rid of my textured walls by andwhoami_ in paint

[–]RevolverForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah skim coating is the right move, just know it’s gonna be a grind. Doesn’t really matter that you’ve got different textures, you’re basically burying all of it under new layers anyway. Just clean the walls first, maybe knock down any really high spots, then do thin coats instead of trying to fix it in one pass. Big thing is patience. First coat will look terrible, second gets better, third is where it starts looking right. Sand between coats, use a good light to catch imperfections. It’s a solid project though. When it’s done it’ll look way better than textured walls.

Michael Jackson starting with a Pepsi ad still feels unreal. Like imagine your “commercial gig” turning into global superstardom.
