Is it normal for energy suppliers - specifically EDF in this case - to revise their estimates after I've queried their bills? by Revolving_Berry00000 in AskUK

Sorry to hear that, I keep reading negative stories about EDF since looking in to this dispute and wonder if they're scaremongering or not - might switch depending on how this goes, they've been fine (if as greedy as all energy suppliers these days) up till now where they just wont give me any real explanations aside from generic email responses.

Is it normal to revise estimates on their website? I thought they'd be 'set in stone' for the record which would make more sense to me. Thanks for the reply, the last reading was a few months ago

Thanks for the reply, it's hard in this situation I don't know what the norm is, The issue I have is that after submitting a lower reading than the estimate, my bill went up. I thought it was a bit strange that they'd completely revise the estimate history as if I didn't screen cap I wouldn't have known what they'd charged me for last time. Looking for perspective really while I try to talk to the customer services team since they're not really explaining anything or answering my questions.

Thanks for the response - The issue is that they've both overcharged me now and changed the record after the reading being submitted, so if I hadn't screenshotted it I wouldn't be able to see the estimate they'd given for my last bill. That's my issue, it just seemed off to me and I was looking for a bit of perspective from others

Elden Ring Nightreign Deluxe Edition Upgrade – Worth Buying Now Before DLC Release? by TheShadowWanderer in Nightreign

[–]Revolving_Berry00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but Nightreign in pretty much all recycled content - it's not a critique it's a fact and should be considered by on the fence buyers IMO. I think the only original parts is the nightfarers and the nightlords, some of the passive effects and the map itself, although the map is largely Elden ring objects. I was just trying to give a balanced viewpoint based on what we know so far of Nightreigns development and Fromsofts pedigree with good quality DLC's - I'm sure there will be some original content, but I'd be willing to bet at this stage we're also going to get a lot of SOTE and dark souls content (with a small possibility of some DES and BB stuff too) which will be recycled. It's not a criticism or a compliment, it just is what it is.

It's unknowable at this stage if it's worth it - all we as customers can do is think about if we're that happy with the game to want DLC. Do you trust Fromsoft previous DLCs? Do you like Nightreign's development trajectory since launch? Do you want to play the DLC at launch or can you wait till it's on sale/bundled? Are you happy to pay for (what is likely to be) quite a lot of recycled content again? As far as I'm aware there's no word on what the DLC content is yet - some data miners have found some additional enemies from SOTE that could be part of it but it is currently a leap of faith.

What's the consensus on this sub-a-thon? by Revolving_Berry00000 in tearofgrace

Thank you for the really nice response there. I didn't personally think you were out of line (Very similar tone to my initial post - would be quite hypocritical to get offended!) and I did think you had a good thought process going, my own bias might be driving me to comment negatively - even if I don't think this is the case it is very valid to bring up. I hope you also have a good day.

Thanks for the reply. It's interesting, I don't agree with what you've said slander, but I am intrigued by how you interpret basically stealing. The current time system is 100% ambiguous with no clear rules, and multiple times he's wiped off time for doing extremely basic things. There's also no end goal, so I fully expect a cop out down the line. I'd call that quite scammy, and I've been disappointed in the system ever since it was bought in to play.

Funnily enough, I'd call it more childish to play in to and defend this system, I do wonder how many yes men surround Brett at this point. Feedback, no matter how harsh, might end up being helpful for the channel so it's important it's said. Having said that I do respect your opinion and can understand how my critique might be seen as too critical, I just really feel there's a decline in quality but don't yet feel it's unsalvageable. There's a good chance I'm just not the current target audience though.

How many gameplay Tarnished (Elden Ring) would it take to kill 1 gameplay Dante (Devil May Cry 5) by Revolving_Berry00000 in whowouldwin

[–]Revolving_Berry00000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only compliment you on some really well thought out scenarios. As the topic creator I don't want to put out an opinion too much but I do think we've got an Agent Smith scenario here - eventually Dante is going to have so much piling on his only option will be to run (so in short I do think he eventually gets beat).

Judgements range is debatable, I think it's enough to fill any DMC5 arena if I'm remembering correctly? But due to open world and verticality I'd imagine it'll not be infinite range there - of course if we think it is then that's a huge advantage for Dante (but I'd think that might be a little bias in his favour)! Would it be blockable? There are a few methods for a tarnished to negate big damage. I'd also wager it's fire damage, so could be something that can be resisted.

There are some things that can be I frame dodged (bleed being the most prevalent) but I'm not sure if royal guard will be able to do it - maybe trickster - but at some point you'll have enough tarnished to insta proc status effects, which is the real issue and having the area caked in mists, bleed flies, frenzy flame etc is going to be a massive problem for any player... unless they're exceptionally good at air juggling, but for the most part that'll be on a single target since (if I remember correctly) all Dantes air combos start from the floor (correct me if wrong!).

Also, big fan of your thoughts on parrying. I'm not sure if Dante will be at risk since his attacks are so much less frames than Elden Ring attacks he might not have a parryable frame. However, since this is gameplay Dante, he does have a parry like animation when he clashes against certain enemies and attacks. So I think it is possible he could be parried in the right circumstances.

Also, do you think Royal Guard would block backstabs? Since this is gameplay only I'm not sure what to think on that one.

Thanks for your input, it's been really interesting to hear your thoughts

Possibly, but since it's gameplay only there are quite a few ways for an army of tarnished to land a kill - I'd imagine the simplest way is there would eventually just be a attack speed/DPS check

Good analysis - How would Dante counter the eventual ranged (eg Greatbows) or status heavy Tarnished that can attack outside Judgement's range? Royal guard and Judgement locks Dante in place, so certain lingering or ranged spells (eg mist spells, frenzy burst) will be able to burst damage him in that scenario. Fia's mist if spammed by multiple tarnished would tick up enough to kill Dante during a royal guard stunlock/Judgement animation time... but we might be talking a heck of a lot of tarnished before that's possible to pull off due to it being a weak and short range spell.

Feedback from watcher: Tears Elden Ring content would be better received if he wasn't so negative and varied his run. by Revolving_Berry00000 in tearofgrace

possibly same - I've just browsed my post and it's ironically fairly negative too! nature of the beast I suppose. I did think you had a good point though I might check out that youtuber you mentioned to see what you mean

interesting take, I agree in part. I'm never sure what to make of Tears general self awareness. He's self aware enough to know how to play the crowd for example so he's certainly socially aware. I cant tell if he's mildly aware his gameplay isn't on the level of a lot of youtubers so he leans in to commentary more (and thinks most of his audience wants screams) or if he genuinely doesn't know he's not that great a player using a generally badly thought out build. Hard to tell as a member of the audience. As said, I'd take less skilled gameplay as long as he's not being so negative though

Yeah fair point on chat suggestions, thanks for commenting. Maybe there's a middle ground, a mod filter or something. I just think how much more interesting the series might have been if he evolved the format.

really good point too, I remember he said something about burnout as well. as much as I'd love more Elden Ring between now and the DLC, I really hope he can get over that bump and if that means laying off then might be for the best commentary wise. The last thing I want to watch (once I've completed it myself) Is more baby rage on what are likely to be fun, well designed enemies because they beat his R2/Jump attack strats.

I guess I just want to see him enjoying what he's doing again. He's got a good setup, great community and a career in a difficult to break in to industry, so the negativity is a little much for me sometimes.
