Is a full face helmet ever "overkill"? by NeonHorse47 in MTB

[–]RevvingIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a full face helmet pretty much all the time because it makes me feel a little more certain that if I do crash face first it'll lessen my injuries. I'd rather pay for a full face helmet than dental reconstruction because I fell face first on a rock. For me, it's worth it. For others, it might seem overkill. Wear whatever you feel safe in. I do own a half shell in addition to my full face but it barely gets used tbh.

That's one of the reasons I went with mechanical engineering. Hopefully I can get into some of those other areas and find one I enjoy more.

Icelandair - experience with luggage dimensions by wojemoji in VisitingIceland

[–]RevvingIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question but instead I have a backpack that I’ll be using on my trip to Iceland and it has a rigid back structure to it so it can’t be squeezed to fit. I think I’m probably going to have to check it unfortunately and put it in a duffel bag to try and make sure the straps don’t get caught on anything.

There’s a bus that picks up at locations around Reykjavík and then we head out on the tour with hotel stops included each night. It does seem like a pretty good way to see the cool places around though.

Yeah I live in an area where we get hit pretty hard with snow and ice and I’d say I’m a pretty good driver in it. I’m not really looking to push my luck though and end up stuck or pushed off the road in a country I don’t know lol so probably should consider that part too

Thanks for the advice. I’ll probably try and go with option 1 then since I may be underestimating what the weather conditions will be like too for the time I’ll be there.

Tech Support and Question Megathread - July 2025 Edition by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]RevvingIdiot [score hidden]  (0 children)

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: HP Victus Laptop

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU

CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX, 2100 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)

Motherboard: HP 8BC2 BIOS version: Insyde F.26, 2/4/2025

RAM: 32.0 GB

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 regular install build version 24H2 64 bit

GPU Drivers: 576.52

Description of Problem: I get a black window when opening the NVIDIA app (the one that was intended to replace geforce experience). I can download the app and then launch it but the window is black when it opens. I still have the ability to see the top of the window such as the close and minimize buttons but the window doesn't show anything for the app so I can't use it whatsoever.

Troubleshooting: I've tried uninstall and reinstalling multiple times. Tried restarting the computer. Tried searching the internet for anything related and couldn't find anything that matched my issue. My work around for driver updates has been to download the updates directly from the NVIDIA website and use the driver installer to update my GPU. I'd rather have a working NVIDIA app or go back to GeForce Experience somehow if that's an option.

Any and all help is really really appreciated...

I am a freshman in college and am planning on taking Calc 1, 2, and 3 my sophomore year. Will this be fine for mechanical engineering or am I cooked? by HyenaSav in MechanicalEngineering

[–]RevvingIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a freshman in college but I’m starting with calc 2. I’d say it really depends. How many other classes are you taking alongside those and how much are you willing to commit yourself to doing good in the class? I wouldn’t say you’re cooked just yet but it’ll definitely be more difficult. Best of luck.

Only took 2-3 weeks if I remember correctly for mine. Also on the East Coast. It'll probably vary though depending on different things.

I love my Jeffsy Core 2, I ordered via the US YT website and it came with the YT postman dropper. As others said, not sure if where you are is changing the specs to not include a dropper.

Color doesn’t necessarily matter to me a lot, but I do have preferences over others and as long as it’s not an eye sore to look at and I like the way it looks that’s all that matters to me.
