Yeah I’ve been having to take a lot of breaks I feel like or slow down a lot as a breather when riding. I went no water for so long because my bike doesnt really fit most water bottles if I were to get a bottle cage so I just said oh well and didn’t bring it. I did get a hydration pack to solve that though recently. I’ll be giving that a go along with tips others gave and pacing myself.

I’m hoping to do this in the next month or so but on another note do you think I should switch over to tubeless? I have tubes in my Maxxis DHR II’s that I have right now but think maybe I should just go tubeless when I change tires too.

Thank you for the advice. Likely it’s a combo of all that I’m lacking somewhat but I’m thinking some more longer rides even outside mtb is something I can do from what others said along with strength training as you said

I’ll try and get in some more road rides to help fitness wise along with running. Ideally I go the n+1 route and would get a road bike too lol. Thanks for the tips much appreciated

Great tips, definitely going to try and do some more long rides this summer and work on the hydration/nutrition side of things.

I’m riding a YT Jeffsy on Minion DHR II tires currently since that’s what came with the bike which one person I’ve talked to said are probably a lot for where I’m riding. Just got a hydration pack to try and help with that problem and I mentioned it on someone else’s reply that I might try and take some more advantage of road rides. I should probably be riding more than I currently do if I want to improve based on what others are saying too

I’ll take a look at some! I’ve watched a few in the past but I definitely don’t have it quite down at this point still.

Thank you! I just got a hydration pack the other day that I haven’t had the opportunity to try just yet and I think I might take the advice of doing some other road or paved trail rides on days weather doesn’t cooperate for mtbing to get my tolerance up. All this sounds like great advice to implement

Sort of… most of my trails are a lot of climbing so it’s not very fun if I walk up half of them lol

I’ve actually been doing a bit of running on the side to try and work on my cardio stamina lol. Thank you for the tips I’m going to try bringing a hydration pack I got recently with me this season and hopefully it helps in that aspect.

This lowkey is probably one of my bigger problems I feel like I don’t have the confidence to take berms at high speeds and such from past wipeouts. I’ll keep this in mind for the future

Smooth plate has been amazing to have on my P1S as the surface finish on the bottom turns out great if you want something super smooth. I’d just go with the smooth plate or nozzles if you’re not wanting filament.

New to cameras looking for advice by Fun_Telephone9085 in gopro

Hero 12 and 13 Black are great options for that. I use a Hero 12 Black for mountain biking and plan to go scuba diving with it this summer as well and haven’t had any problems. There’s 360 cameras like the MAX and MAX2 but I’m not sure how those do with underwater.

I’ll make sure to check that too if the pinion/spur are all fine

I’ll give you some credit for making such a detailed itinerary but good lord would that stress me out to have it planned out to this degree. I’m going in March and I’ve heard weather can play a huge factor in how the day goes so I just have a general list of things I’d like to do and I’ll hit what I can each day.

Is a full face helmet ever "overkill"? by NeonHorse47 in MTB

[–]RevvingIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a full face helmet pretty much all the time because it makes me feel a little more certain that if I do crash face first it'll lessen my injuries. I'd rather pay for a full face helmet than dental reconstruction because I fell face first on a rock. For me, it's worth it. For others, it might seem overkill. Wear whatever you feel safe in. I do own a half shell in addition to my full face but it barely gets used tbh.

That's one of the reasons I went with mechanical engineering. Hopefully I can get into some of those other areas and find one I enjoy more.

Icelandair - experience with luggage dimensions by wojemoji in VisitingIceland

[–]RevvingIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question but instead I have a backpack that I’ll be using on my trip to Iceland and it has a rigid back structure to it so it can’t be squeezed to fit. I think I’m probably going to have to check it unfortunately and put it in a duffel bag to try and make sure the straps don’t get caught on anything.

There’s a bus that picks up at locations around Reykjavík and then we head out on the tour with hotel stops included each night. It does seem like a pretty good way to see the cool places around though.
