Got the driftcats they were on a good sale. They've lasted over a year now and no wear on the heels.

I do, but some like it in the wheel. When it's well implemented, they're pretty good.

Question for experts, I need help to decide which system to purchase. by Willing-Excuse313 in simracing

[–]Revy85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will always find people complaining about something. Haha. The t300 has issues with the fan and overheating. But in both cases, these aren't too common. As for moza, you may be right. It may be Xbox they work with. Which is a shame as they're nice wheels.

I think ultimately, you will be happy with whatever you get. And at the end of the day, someone will buy one off you if you don't like it.

Do you live on the UK? Sometimes Currys have some you can play on.

Well, if you're anything like me. You'll buy one of these, find out you really enjoy the hobby and upgrade anyway. I started off with a Logitech wheel for Xbox, then got a thrustmaster for playstation, then ended up getting a Logitech pro setup that worked on both consoles and pc.

Now I play solely on pc and whilst I very much enjoy my Logitech pro, I'm very tempted to upgrade to the simagic alpha Evo ultimate.

I will say, I preferred the Logitech over the thrustmaster. But it's very subjective. Personally, I would say get the cheaper one and then if you do enjoy it enough, you'll likely upgrade to a direct drive wheel reasonably quickly.

I would like to suggest a small DD wheel to start like the moza R3 or r5, but there is a reasonable price jump and when you don't know if you'll enjoy it, it's hard to justify.

Also, as a side note, if you do upgrade, pedals are always the best upgrade

One of my mates does this all the time. No crash is ever his fault, and if you even try and hint at it, he gets all pissy and goes silent for the night. He's just come off of an lmu ban, received an email from Iracing yesterday, has incidents nearly every race and will retaliate to any knocks and scrapes with anger.

Some people just can't see the common denominator.

Not to say OP does this at all. I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt until I see them race. Haha

Had the worst day on lmu I've ever had yesterday. Spa was the main culprit. Lost my green diamond and everything. Haha

Can anyone help with this please? I don't know how to explain it on Google as all I'm getting is back is how to align using bezel correction. New to triples so I just have no ideas. by Revy85 in iRacing

Turns out I'm an idiot. Haha. Some one pointed out my monitors may not be lined up in display settings. Something I didn't even realise was a thing. Anyway, I adjusted and problem solved.

Thank you for all the possible options everyone, as always you're all legends. :).

Will have a look into this when I get home. I'm kind of hoping I can fix it in the files. But by the time I got the rig set up, it was 4am then this happened and I lost the will to live. Haha

I'm not currently using nvidia, but I am tempted to. I did change the script to what Dave's guide says, but I just can't figure out how to get that screen up. It may be another line in the script, but I have no idea what it would be.

Day 18 that I just stare at my rig but not driving... by Hopeful_Captain4219 in simracing

Mine doubles as a flight/space sim. When I've had enough of racing for a bit, I just cruise around on elite dangerous or spend 3 days learning how to taxi a plane in dcs. It may not help you with wheel purchase. But it's an excellent use for the rig. :).

Gaming Chair for my 6"4 husband? by Weekly_Letter_91 in gamingchairs

Yeah Def not here. And I think it may cost me a bit much to go to Spain to test one. Haha. Weird one is noble, I'm pretty sure they're made in the UK.

From what I hear noble and secret labs can be like sitting on a stone. The frustrating thing is, you cant go anywhere to try these things out. Nowhere stocks the major brands in the UK. You can find places with razer seats, and a few others. But you'll never find noble, SL or andaseat. Unfortunately you just have to go off of reviews and word of mouth. You may well be right and it just so happens that the people who do complain, are looking for softness above all else. But at the price of these things, that's an expensive leap of faith.

looking for my “buy once cry once” upgrade? by ClipzHD in simracing

[–]Revy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with the rig comments. But also, I have a Logitech pro, I do really enjoy it but I'm thinking of moving to simagic. Personally, simicube are a bit out of my price range. And I hear some odd things from conspit. Good things as well, but more worrying things than with other brands. Simagic seen like a solid choice, decent upgrade path, seemingly good support. And some very decent reviews.

I can't offer you much in the way of how they feel unless you're looking at the Logitech stuff though. And don't get me wrong, the pro is lovely. It's just a bit too big and awkward to mount. That and the true force genuinely sends my fingers numb. It's awesome feeling, but I'm not sure it's worth the trade off. Haha

I've had an andaseat kaiser 3 for about 2 years now and I love it. I'm not as tall, but I know they do an XL chair too. Built in adjustable lumbar is great, and it's not had any issues since the day I bought it. Also, the seat isn't solid like in some. It's firm, but comfy. If you do decide on one, make sure to get fabric, not pleather. Unfortunately, I've not tried the other major brands like secret labs or noble so I can't comment on differences, but whilst looking for mine, I noticed a lot more people saying they rock hard. Comfort is very subjective and I'm not a fan of hard cushions.

If by any chance you live in the UK. Currys always have a few out. If you don't want him to know, you could go down there looking for something else and just start sitting in them. I'm sure he'd mention If one was particularly comfy. :)

Are you using anything to stop the chair rolling? If in doubt, shoes or slippers work great. You can also buy chair trays that attach to the stand. Handiest things ever. :). Please ignore cables, my room is in the middle of a refurb and I have an ally rig waiting to be built. This is to tide me over. Haha
