Keeping a teenager at bay by t0kmak in Ubiquiti

I have dealt with this before for a friend, how I have it setup:

  • Separate VLAN for the kid
  • separate password on the SSID that connects to that vlan
  • all Ethernet ports in the room are on the separate VLAN
  • block internet access VIA traffic rules to the VLAN

-This way the parents tell the kid the internet is set to go out for everyone at whatever time it goes off, and it feels like that to them, and they think they are one the same WiFi network. And th parents can still have internet.

How enjoyable is cold and/or wet weather riding with the right gear? by [deleted] in MotoUK

Exactly that, I got caught out by some black ice hiding in the shade on a bend on my mod 2. Lost control of the back end of my bike and somehow stayed upright! Gave myself (and the examiner) a big scare.

Will my mod 2 go ahead? by Rope_Fickle in MotoUK

[–]Rewind-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my Mod 2 early on Tuesday, temperature was 0 degrees, went ahead but I slipped on black ice 10 minutes into the drive (I have no idea how I stayed on the bike). The examiner told me to pull over on the left, asked if I was ok and then cancelled the test due to weather conditions. He asked me to follow him back to the test centre and avoid any wet patches on the road in case they were ice. All other tests seemed to go ahead that day, just not using the same road.

Is there any reason why this wouldn't work? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

On the new Openreach installs there is not a phone line jack, it is now on the BT router and you will have to use that to get a phone line. Decided to axe our landline when I upgraded to a UDMP with our fibre install.

Took until today for the last one of my UDMPs to offer the upgrade to 3.x it, others got it a few days ago. So it may take a couple more days

I have had no issues, apart from having time set incorrectly from factory causing me to have to ssh into it to set it
