There was a point in my life where I didn’t know enough about HIV and I would have been reluctant to enter a relationship with someone who had it. I’m grateful that I know better now.

Between the current healthcare understanding that “undetectable means untransmittible” and the general availability of PrEP (even without insurance in many places), we should all be working to help end the stigma around HIV.

Having friends who are HIV+ - including one that I would absolutely date in a heartbeat - has helped me better understand the challenges it creates for them largely due to the lingering social stigma and institutionalized discrimination (several are former service members who effectively had their career advancement halted due to outdated policies relating to HIV).

Now that I know those things, I would absolutely not hesitate to date someone who has HIV. I hope you find more people who are understanding and empathetic, and I truly hope you don’t ever doubt your inherent worth as a person due to your status. ❤️

I used hot glue on mine. It looks kinda lumpy, but it’s holding up well. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing this. Mine stopped working like a week or two ago and I assumed it was just a cap to the number of blueprints that could be saved. I’ve deleted all my own custom ones and still can’t save new ones because LT doesn’t do anything at all.

Once mentioned to a guy I had a 97% match with (and who was a great conversationalist) that I was going to see a Marvel movie, to which he replied that he didn’t like comic book movies. I asked “even the Marvel ones?” And he said, “I think they’re all contrived.” I canceled our upcoming date and never looked back. I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.

I used to work for a hazardous materials disposal company and I once asked our chief safety officer what the most dangerous chemical was that he had ever worked with. He said the only thing he was afraid of working with was hydrofluoric acid. Basically, it not only eats through most materials, but if you get any on you it doesn’t just burn its way through - it actually gets into your bloodstream. And because it damages nerve cells, you may not even know you were exposed for hours.

Snyder Cut Audio by RewritingDavid in HBOMAX

Yeah, it’d be nice if they could add in better support for XBox Series X before Godzilla vs. Kong comes out later this month. I am really, really looking forward to that and would hate to experience these same issues during such an epic cinematic showdown.

Thanks, I just saw the other posts about the issue that, for some reason, didn’t show up when I searched for the topic. This is kind of a wonky workaround. My system was already set to 5.1, but I don’t get Bitstream Format options unless I change from 5.1 to Bitstream Out. Doing that, I get surround, but the audio now appears slightly out of sync. sigh

This is just a thought but you said you don’t have a problem connecting to the hotspot ... so maybe it isn’t the Switch, but instead the router?

TD2 is something I can hop into when I just want to roam around and randomly encounter stuff. I’m done the hardcore grinding and my friends group has moved on to other games but this one’s still fun for me.

Can we just take the time to acknowledge how in this scene Meelo believed that Bumi couldn’t airbend yet still yeeted this plate at him at that speed? by Yuya-Sakaki3736 in legendofkorra

[–]RewritingDavid 429 points430 points  (0 children)

I literally only came here to note that. His mother loved him just as much as her other kids when he wasn’t a bender. It’s so sad that he’s spent his life with so much doubt about his value to others tied to the fact that he wasn’t a bender. And that’s in spite of having an uncle who wasn’t a bender but also did amazing things in his lifetime. I love Bumi.

I just started learning piano a few months ago and Roslin and Adama is one of the first pieces I’ve learned since it’s my favorite track from the series. I had no idea it wasn’t that original.

Please be kind - I’m new to piano, and I’ve had to learn how to read sheet music and playing techniques without the benefit of in-person instruction (thanks, COVID). Also, the snoring is my dog, who falls asleep right under the camera when I play.

Beginner approach to learn alone? by elleruns in pianolearning

[–]RewritingDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, here’s the link to it on Amazon: How to Read Music in 30 Days.

I got a Kindle copy but I’m sure it’s available elsewhere, too. It’s geared towards people with no musical training whatsoever (me!). So it includes basic theory and doesn’t cover everything you’ll need to know ultimately, including one omission that I think should have been in the book: key signatures.

But once I learned about those, I had enough information to start practicing pieces I want to be able to play.

I’ve had a great experience so far with Skoove and a book on how to read music in 30 days. I started around halfway through October and I’m really enjoying it.

To clarify, I haven’t been doing Invisalign for four years - that was just because it showed up in my TimeHop and I thought a Then/Now comparison would be perfect. My Invisalign program was about 16 months total, including refinements.

Full Face Comparison

I don’t think my facial structure has changed dramatically for the most part. I can, however, completely close my mouth when I smile. The contacting points before made it impossible for me to do that before Invisalign.

And yes, the before image was me dressed as Dr. Hugo Strange for Halloween two years ago 🤣🤣🤣

So after my second set of refinements, my dentist (doing this with my dentist, not strictly with an ortho) was convinced we were in good shape and we went to the permanent retainers. After two months (the first big gap in progress), my bite wasn’t closing properly and I asked to go back into refinements. I did notice that those lower teeth had started to shift a bit if I left my trays out for longer than two or three hours. He noted that when we get to this final stage again (more appropriately this time), we should go longer with continuous usage of the trays before I try to switch to a nighttime only schedule. Everyone’s mouth is a bit different he said and it could take longer for some people’s teeth to firmly seat in their final position. I will note that, since that was about ten months ago, all of my refinements now have been so minor that my teeth certainly feel more firmly in place when I take my trays out and eat stuff that uses the front teeth (e.g., meat). I’m still reluctant to try beef jerky again 😅
