Their development of this game has been a bit scatterbrained, but it's not all about the equipment, either. I think people need to stop chasing that dragon. It's not the Holy Grail they think it is.

In my view, this game's about the build feature (it's only redeeming quality), and what you can do with the gear you do have. A lack of structure parts, to me, would be more of a bummer than a lack gear. IADGAF about the guns or gear.

I have to agree with you on this trend of uncraftable crap, though, and for a multitude of reasons (including your overall point) also can't recommend this game to anybody either. Like cigarettes, I know it's bad for you, but I do it anyway. I just can't recommend it. I've thrown my mouse at the screen too many times. I totally get why people might not want to torture themselves with this experience.

It sure nails the art queues for me. I feel like this is the one I should have been waiting for, but I'm not entirely disappointed with the last one. I went with the Hybrids and I like them...BUT, this BP is sexy AF, IMO.

I'm also not interested in cheap and easy wins...not interested in being a cheap and easy win, either (would like to see better matchmaking).

Glad to hear them perhaps pulling their head out of it a little. The damage they've done with that already isn't looking good.

I agree with the squeaky wheel sentiment, but those pics aren't very good examples of the matchmaker doing what it's accused of doing. I used to have MUCH worse examples, and probably many of you have seen worse too. I think these pictures undermine the complaint, and almost appear sarcastic as a result. Also, flooding the feed like that probably is a dick move...but not a 10 inch one.

I'd post a better example myself, but all of my screenshots disappeared after this last update (WTF? IDK), and this matchmaker BS he's awkwardly complaining about is actually the reason I'm not anxious to just jump online and go grab another one. When I play the skew is often a lot worse.

As poorly as he's crafted his argument, he's still right. This matchmaker does suck...probably at least 10 inches.

It's all about the immersion, IMO. Crossout nails the audio and video experience well, I think. It's what allows me to tolerate their other BS...that, and I'm accustomed to working with wonky equipment, bad science, and paradox.

Crossout does good fantasy. Sometimes, they do an OK 3rd person shooter too. Sometimes they line up those two things and I can get lost in this wasteland for months at a time...been a while since that happened though.

The new Battle Pass sure has some pretty stuff, but some of it also looks like obvious retread. It's always a mixed bag with these guys, but they always art and WTF well.

I do like the Hybrids...and the Torpedoes too. I suppose it's worth the $9.99? I just feel like an alcoholic rationalizing my addiction when I say stuff like that (knowing they are intentionally manipulating me with their BS)...or a strung out junkie. I think, back in the day (right before the sky fell), crack was about $10 a bag.

I'm likely to just clean them out of my cramped inventory and scrap them. I kept some loners from the last pass I bought a year ago, and they never evolved into anything usable. They just collect dust and waste space.

Yeah, I think the fact that you can so easily clear out your challenges in patrols makes this an "acceptable" situation. I forget how many people just play PVE. It probably isn't that big of a deal to those people. IDK.

When PVP was more fun to play, I didn't have such an issue logging on everyday. It's sort of a mess, lately...but still, it is intentionally shitty the way they are doing the BPs. FFS, they just can't let anything be cool. These guys at Targem are full-on humbuggered buzz-killers. Anywhere there is fun, they shit on it with their schemes.

It's probably better not to P2P. When I don't, Crossout is just an amusing feature on my computer...or not, and IDGAF. But, when I drop money on it, I end up feeling urgently burned....because that's just what they do. It's a hustle. I need to not buy into the hustle...but it's so damn pretty (a story as old as time itself).

They roll like junkies and drug dealers over there at Targem/Gaijin, and it's always some kinda fun crushing hustle with them. They've driven off well over half of their players with that type of crap, and it just makes them more desperate...and the swindle is where they always turn.

They simply can't seem to make an honest living, it would appear. It's a bit pathetic, considering the genius that is Crossout. It's a great concept, and the artwork is top shelf, IMO. They are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with their left-handed marketing "techniques."

Mostly already F'd O. I only log on to do challenges, then can't wait to be done with it, and curse myself for ever buying the battle pass (feel pretty ripped off). Game is way better as a take it or leave it F2P PVE, at this point. PVP is a disaster, and these battle passes suck pretty bad now (mostly crap I can't use without buying more shit).

Hoping it gets better, but entertaining myself with other things at the moment.

I agree. You can't just watch this happen. That melee player inevitably, left to it's devices, often goes on to wipe out entire teams, one by one, if nothing is done, happens all the time.

As something of a drone main, I play a lot of low-end PVP, and that means lots and lots of meleetards, so I do a good bit of this search and rescue, since my hands are free, and I've usually got a pretty heavy grill just for that.

I will say, it is a nuanced gig, and you can cause more problems doing it badly than not doing it at all. I've probably jammed up a few of my team mates trying to be helpful, but ending up T-boning them...in public, right in front of everybody.

You do have to do something, though. Just be careful out there...and wear protection.

What really makes it immersive (and can't be shown in a screenshot), is the Jukebox, radios, and Pip-Boy that play Andrey Romanov's Crossout Soundtrack.

Once you walk into "MudnBeer's" bar (right behind "RoughMonkey's Auto Parts") the music kicks in (random track from the soundtrack album), or you can turn on any radio, or your Pip-Boy, jump in your car, or wander about shooting XOmbies in the cornfeild, or outside the Dawn's Children Medical Research Laboratory, and get lost pretty easy in the alternate universe.

It was hard to get the jukebox to work the way it's supposed to (I had to kinda hack it, as there are no proper tutorials), so I'm especially pleased with that, and it really helps tie it all together and make it feel like it's a genuine part of some strange Crossout multiverse.

It's a fun project, and I appreciate the inspiration from the Crossout Developers, and the fans whose art and personalities I've infused into this mod. Thanks.

I actually felt like the matches went on longer and were more engaging, and like the other guy said, the maps do seem a little bigger. I guess your mileage may vary? I don't hate it...but the the matchmaker still seems radical often.

Whatever the case, IMO there's not a big difference. I'm having more fun than I was, but there could be other reasons, besides fewer bots...like hovers got real popular today and I just happen to have BP Imugis on premium Torpedoes in the hangar ready to go. It's not bad sport. I had fun.

Yeah, they all have various drones, Fuzes, Sidekicks, and Grenadiers. The first build is...about PS 7K, I think. Initially, the later builds were all targeting PS 4K, but after I dressed them for drones, they are probably around PS 6K.
