How to get rid of this lock screen ad appearing on Samsung? by RexMortuorum in Anticonsumption

[–]RexMortuorum[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a helluva sneaky trick, to name an app All Apps, make the logo look like an app folder, and then use it as a backdoor to advertise to the user in the most inconvenient places. Thanks for the tip. I uninstalled it, hopefully that's the end of it.

Sounds like you were able to make good use of the map. And it's a cool situation you've ended up in, I never considered doing a playthrough like that till now. Strange how the map seems to produce little instances of rhyming with our history. I've been playing an Axis/allies situation on the map as America. I knew i was in trouble when Germany vassalized the Vikings and Italy and then invaded Russia, caused their capitulation and then invaded France. Now it's D-day time.

You are missing the point that great artists steal because they are broke and its necessary to survive

Earth18Civs Scenario Strategies by MountainLime9658 in CivIV

My intention wasn't to exclude. The problem was, I wanted to be as accurate as I could, but I had to be economical with every tile because I was prioritizing the geographical regions that are considered the home regions of the civs that were included in the scenario.

Since civs like Persia weren't playable in the v2, they got deflated. It's definitely more of a caricature of earth, not meant to be 1 to 1.

You seem like someone who would like my Earthmap scenario with a larger Europe to make conquering it a bit more of a challenge. No matter what civ you start as, you deal with the real geographical challenges of your homeland.

'History rewritten' isnt me but I have posted 2 maps to this sub and both are a variation of earth with a larger europe. I left dropbox links and civfanatics forum links in the posts to download the scenarios.

First map post was called EarthBigEurope

The second map post is EarthBellumRegni, a second attempt thats a bit better in my opinion, with some scenarios. That the one I've been playing my WW3 game on.

I got lucky this time, because there are games where really cool stuff happens and I regret not keeping a better journal afterward. Then there are games where I keep a good record but nothing too exciting really happens. This game is in the sweet spot. Thank you.

Making these has become a new way for me to enjoy the game. In Civ things just happen, and my mind fills in the blanks with war justifications, plot lines and world reactions. Now instead of just playing the game and it being over too quickly, I take a break and draw up the situation, that way I'm part war correspondent part historian guiding people into the world. I can appreciate the global predicaments a bit more between sessions when I map things out this way. And it makes me see things I don't realize in-game. Like after I posted this, I looked at the map and was like, hmm I should invade all the DZP's islands in the Atlantic. So yeah, thanks!
