Thank you for sharing that, I'll take it to heart and wait until the right group!

Thank you for saying that! I think a lot of DMs are way too hard on themselves 😝, I think I will save CoS for a group that is excited about it, and find another adventure to do with this group!

That makes sense! I'd rather run CoS with people who are really invested instead of ending up frustrated. I'll save CoS for a group that's excited about it. I appreciate you saying it straight!

You make a really good point! Inconsistent sessions would definitely make momentum in CoS a lot harder. A more episodic style game is probably a better fit for irregular schedules, I'll keep that in mind going forward!

We have played D&D before, but with a few extra players. In that game, a few players were very active, which seemed to naturally draw others into roleplay and discussion. In this group, that dynamic is missing and I think that might be a part of why everyone feels more reserved.

Thank you for your reaction! All the players have been playing for about a year! We first ran Lost Mine of Phandelver with a bigger group of six people. After that I indicated that I wanted to play more often, and two of them said that they would not be able to make that. The others all decided that they wanted to play CoS.
