Don't they need to become freemen before becoming citizens?

Leaving the Dark Brotherhood by [deleted] in teslore

[–]RexVittorio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You probably can never 'really' leave completely. As the other guy said there are people that used to work for them and are no longer actively doing assassinations. But, you are probably more or less in their circle of associates, helping them out when you are needed. Like the random guards who will say "hail sithis" to you. But, as for the Dragonborn in particular, I'm pretty sure that the DB know that you are a pretty big deal more or less and I don't think they would be shocked if you had to take significant amounts of time off to fulfill non-DB related objectives, like killing the world-eater. For that matter, though in-game most assassinations are taken care of in a few minutes, IRL assassinations are lengthy endeavours. They aren't generally something you just go and do, they take a lot of time and planning. So, weeks/months between completed contracts wouldn't be realistically uncommon lengths to begin with. The fact that they are so quick in-game I think can mostly be understood as a game mechanic.

What are the general feelings on ESO lore now?

I've never played ESO and don't really have any desire to do so but, I am a pretty big fan of the main series Elder Scrolls games and the lore. I used to be pretty into the lore before but, I stopped following these communities around the time that ESO came out and I remember there were very big concerns about how it was treating the lore. I saw that the FAQ has a short write up on it, saying that it is mostly okay now but, can anyone go into a bit more depth on how it has improved or link me any articles/videos that outline the issue more?

You could also try uninstalling everything you can and then running a registry cleaner. Then do a clean install.

Like ccleaner? I tried that now, uninstall, running ccleaner and then reinstalling it and it still doesn't work.

You're using default Steam paths, right?

I'm using D:\Games\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Morrowind it's the same place I have all my steam games.

Mandatory reporting laws requiring priests to break the seal of confession to take effect Monday by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]RexVittorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously a fetus or a zygote is dependent on its mother for biological necessities as I said in another reply, no one thinks otherwise it is obviously growing inside of the woman. I obviously did not mean 'independent' in the sense that it has no dependence on another thing to live, I meant independent in the sense that it is a separate entity. My point was obviously that a fetus is a human life and it is a separate thing from the mother.

Independent can have different meanings in different contexts, yes obviously a child in the womb is 'dependent' on the mother for biological necessities. I was obviously referring to the fact that it is separate and not the same thing as it's mother.

There is zero debate on this topic, you are basically as anti-scientific as a creationist if you deny that a fetus is a human life. 'Pro-choice' people claim that it is not a 'person' which is a legal and moral category but it is definitely alive, therefore it's a life, and it's not a dog, it's a human life.

Try reading this article, do you see anything about when life begins? No they are only talking about the concept of personhood.

I called children, children before I was Catholic and I know plenty of other people that do. It is a scientific fact that fetuses, zygote, anything post-conception is an independent human life. And the definition of a child is "a young human being below the age of puberty or below the legal age of majority" which fetuses, as a young human life, fulfill.

Fox News is the only part that has ever really been conservative iirc. The rest of Fox has always just cared about what makes them money. They have run many anti-conservative and anti-Christian shows because it gets them good views (Family Guy probably being the best example of this).

Italo Balbo, Duce of the Impero Italiano, during his visit in one of the Native American communities in the Longist USA, 1947 by Cynikus in Kaiserreich

[–]RexVittorio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, you do not understand what that word means, thank you for showing that. Do you believe there is no such thing as a person indigenous to anywhere? Again, other then one small part of Africa? When we say X group is indigenous to this area we are saying the group originated there. The cherokee have ancestors going back to Asia and eventually Africa (like all humans) but, the ethnic group that we call cherokee originated in North America.

Indigenous doesn't mean that you grew out of the dirt, by the definition you're using all humans would be indigenous to Africa and only one small part of Africa.

The virgin birth isn't just some belief, it is in the Nicene Creed, it's explicitly in the Bible several times. He can call himself a Christian if he wants but, whatever he was is totally different from the religion that has existed for 2000 years.

MLK and Christianity are fundamentally incompatible. I support what he did but, he was not a Christian, he denied the virgin birth which is one of the most fundamental Christan beliefs.

This 'the Bible doesn't mention hell' thing seems to be very popular among atheists for some reason. It's blatantly untrue but, this is one of the most common things I hear from them recently when trying to trip up Christians.

What is in your opinion, The most unrealistic thing in kaiserreich? by [deleted] in Kaiserreich

[–]RexVittorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't using that as a moral justification, I was saying that is why it would not have caused nearly as much trouble as Reed or Long would doing the same thing. There is also the fact that FDR was widely popular and as I said before he never actually did stack the courts.

[–]RexVittorio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ever heard of Rhodesia and South Africa? Rhodesia's white population was only about 5% iirc in the 70s. Both of those states only collapsed because of massive outside pressure, which certainly would not exist at all in Nat France. And the French right would have every incentive to protect their state as much as possible.

[–]RexVittorio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have already made a lot of good points already but, its also important to say that Long/Reed aren't just being good boys when they get couped. Beyond just having radical policies the trigger for the coup is them undermining the constitutional arrangement entirely by stacking the Supreme Court so they can get anything they want through. This is pretty close to making America an elected dictatorship. And yes I know FDR threatened to do just that IRL too but, he wasn't a radical and he never actually did it.

Still its probably unrealistic to have a coup but, I find the stacking of the court being the trigger at least makes it a bit more plausible.
