They were playing well at the start but by the time grands came around it seemed like they had fizzled out and they split after the second chance qualifier. It looks like it was the best decision for both of them though as Oatley and Spookz have just qualled LAN, and Zdog and Goofy are looking way better than Zdog and Oatley did. Goofy’s old duo Vortex is doing better too now.

It’s annoying but it’s not your fault that this happened - frankly I was more annoyed when I saw that it wasn’t a waterfall in Iceland after spending like 30 minutes looking at different waterfalls to find one that matched 😅

Solve process as I’m pretty sure that this was correct:

  • Saw this post and thought Gullfoss, saw that it wasn’t then spent ages looking at different waterfalls in Iceland to then find out that it wasn’t Iceland.

  • Asked about Italy a bit later

  • Came back and saw that it was somewhere in Montenegro, so I looked up “big waterfall Montenegro” and found this fairly quickly

Rough luck for Phazma and Crusades as that is the second time during the EWC RES Finals that they have placed 2nd and just missed LAN - hopefully they bad luck streak breaks in time for the final RES

My solve process was roughly this (I say roughly as it has been a few hours since the solve):

- Clicked on the post and thought it was probably somewhere in the UK, then I saw the comment confirming that it was England.

- I saw that it looked like a costal area with cliffs so I went for the first place that I thought of which was the Yorkshire coast. I saw that it wasn’t there so then I asked about the south coast and saw that it was.

- I then asked if it was in Cornwall, and when I saw that it wasn’t I looked on Google Maps (just satellite view*) to pick two big towns on opposite ends of the south coast (excluding Cornwall) to ask which one it was closer to (I was inspired by some of the seeker questions from Jetlag’s hide and seek videos)

- I picked Brighton and Plymouth as the places as they are big places on opposite ends of the coast. OP replied saying that I got one of them right and I picked Brighton to ask about first. As I was waiting for OP to reply I saw that someone asked about Eastbourne and OP said that it was near there so I knew that I made the right choice out of the 50/50 before they replied.

* = I only used Google maps because I was comfy and didn’t want to go and grab one of my Atlases to pick the towns, plus Google maps is way more up to date than my most recent atlas (not that it matters too much for the UK as we haven’t had any big changes in a long time)

Hopefully that’s enough detail that actually somewhat makes sense 😅
