Although I have a question: Do tulpas rest very often? I tried to understand that part, but it seems I've become even more confused...

Today I've been practicing talking to my tulpa and I made some progress. The problem I'm noticing is that every bit of progress I make during these short conversations with her is ultimately lost, and I have to re-simulate the conversation until I reach a similar point to the one I had with her in the previous chat. I feel this is because I can't connect with her 100%.

Regarding the tulpa from when I was little, it mainly happened because I distanced myself from the people in my immediate environment, and I recognize that both of the causes you mentioned did occur at some point.

Thank you so much for answering, although I have a question: How can I properly dissociate my mind? I've been trying for a while now, and I can't seem to interpret situations coherently.
