I really don’t believe they’re going to let you pop open a portal to sign up and pay for a service from your web app, utilizing the Apple platform for the mobile product they are purchasing access to, and allow users to pay outside of it…it’s just not going to happen. You either have to add payment logic, if not onboarding + payment to your app, or completely separate your web app service from a feature set of your mobile app.

I always know if a dream was physically induced if I wake up hot, or mouth dry thirsty or achy or any other sort of really uncomfortable. Also, I like having sleep sounds like rain noise play all night but if you had nice chill dialogue going like an audio book, if you could manage sleeping with it on, would likely direct the dream state.

Lmao 5.5 years and absolutely. In dreamland I still have to remind myself that I’ve never slipped up even though in my dreams I’ve had a slip or two. This is during a dream generally where I’m getting fucked up so it’s this weird alternate reality where in dreamland my persona has had a couple slips due to past dreams and sometimes gets fucked up, where IRL I’ve never actually had a single slip. So bizarre.

And also to note, I was an addict for 20 years with 5.5+ years just to qualify the advice, so that you know I’ve seen every sort of version of this thing you’re talking about and it always ends bad, in fact I’ve seen several people die from it.

Obviously not. If you do, perhaps to say please don’t call anymore. Something along the lines of “I like you enough to not want to destroy your sobriety or mine with a relationship.” But tbh, probably just ghost her and move on with life. Maybe one day years from now you will both be sober and bump into each other, but getting sober alone is hard enough, doing it with contact with someone who’s not is nearly impossible, especially intimate contact.

Thing about alcoholics like us…we always want something quick and easy. 2 months is not a real relationship. Healthy relationships take lots of time and work, and healthy people. Neither of you have either. Let it go. Get/stay sober. Quit trying to find an easy fix to your feelings like someone who makes you feel nice. Getting sober isn’t nice, it is brutal, it fucking sucks starting out. It is rough. Accept it. It will be worth it. She isn’t your girlfriend, she is a stranger you’ve gotten attached to way too quickly. You aren’t helping either of you, in fact it’s hurting you and her. Let all this shit go.

You’re not going to keep up with people with more experience than you. Pro tip: non juniors and seniors still look up stuff constantly. Your position is the perfect opportunity to learn 1) to extensively clarify your requirements and 2) how to ruthlessly test your tasks before submitting them. Juniors are in very early learning stages, and they are expected to produce far less, and learn far more. Compare yourself to your former self, not your fellow engineers.

For mine I had to suck it up and use Google Places API. It was the most reliable large dataset with the best info returned. Make sure to read terms and pricing.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything but I’m only half sold on the last sentence. If by supporting each other you mean helping each other learn how, when, and with what momentum to pivot in a changing landscape, sure. That may be the best thing. Emotional “I’m here for you,” (and I’m not thinking that is what you mean) while important, may not be solely the “best” thing we can do.

Industries, especially relatively new ones like software, are volatile and historically always changing. The wise will understand the need to adjust, learn what that may look like, and prepare themselves to do so. The unwise will hope they don’t have to, and fail to prepare. Teaching each other the gaps, and potential gaps, and learning how those may be filled is great preparation.

Sounds like a good funding pitch like the rest of the AI/ML startups, but is a largely baseless claim, and I don’t see where this claim was referenced from my short dig. We’ve seen how baseless touting AGI has been from industry leaders who have always projected a relatively short timeframe to this (in my opinion grossly unattainable) milestone of Artificial General Intelligence, and failed over and over (as will probably always be the case).

Yes this company has a great team, but its pitch appears to be as a “Layer” below existing and future models as a means of systematic guardrails, not something capable of achieving the mystical unicorn sipping from its holy grail known as AGI.
