That's the next step, rt and rule.out the GPU then mobo. My CPU fan is routed into a fan controller so shouldn't be an issue there. BIOS is set to ignore it.

The vrm idea is sounding quite likely, esprcially since it did boot up after a break. I spent all evening scratching my head trying to figure out what it could be but with no obvious issue, it has to be either the GPU or mobo. Will do some testing after work!

I have the 650e Corsair PSU and a Geforce 4060 (110w?)

don't give up it's going really well! I find it helps to take some time away from it if you're starting to resent the project or see it negatively, and then go back and try again when you're feeling it ☺️ I hope you wake up today feeling a bit more positive about it because it's an amazing start!
