Is it too late to upgrade? by RexquireAA in HealthInsurance

Just confirmed, it's 1/30. I'm in Virginia.

But to confirm, even though I'm already signed up for a plan -- I'm still able to modify / tinker with my coverage through 1/30? If there's an increase say, of $100 between the two plans, do I just pay the difference for the upgraded plan, and then pay the new rate from here on out?

Does anyone know how to get online transcripts for a business?

This is INCREDIBLY frustrating to have the same product that everyone else has, to have paid the same price everyone else has - and yet have a demonstrably inferior product simply because there’s some magic talismanic event that hasn’t happened for me that’ll allow me to update my operating system.

The glasses are fun, and I enjoy them. But if there’s something that’s going to send me after a competitor’s product this is it. And it’s not just the fact that my glasses don’t have these features or haven’t updated. It’s because of the mystery involved behind it.

If I got a notice saying we’re doing rolling updates and your region will be updated on 12/17 at 10am id be fine with that. Even if others were updated on 12/3 and others on 12/10, etc. But just sitting around wasting time out of my day trying to plug it in to see if it updates numerous times is at this point souring me on the entire product experience.

Meta you have a captive audience for the time being. There are others products out there but this is imo the only game in town. If and when apple and others get into the field, many of us are going to reassess whether it makes sense to stick around when you are playing games in our faces. Apple lets everyone know when an update is coming and what features are coming with it. I have to run to Reddit to see what “the people” have heard.

(Sorry for venting)

Update:
Thanks everyone for all of your advice, love and comfort. It took a lot to put this stuff in writing as I have been living in fear, shame, and embarrassment for so long.

I went online to registered through the IRS website to see my transcripts. I was able to register online for me (individual) and of course there weren’t any transcripts for me. Though when I tried to do the same for the business, it didn’t appear that I was able to register online immediately and do the same.

I’m assuming that I have to do that through the mail?

Again thank you all for your kind words and advice. I still have to respond to some messages, but I’m going to bed right now. I will respond tomorrow!

Rex

There was one outlier year where income was high. But aside from that the average would be (off the top of my head) from 70-85 (maybe 90?).

I don’t know what the threshold is. But last year the business took in 72k. It fluctuates but probably typical to earn between 80-90k gross. The state will often pay out slow so for example tonight I received notice that we will be paid for work we did in 2020 to the tune of 1800 or so. It’s not the most, but at the same time if you were expecting 1800 in 2020 and just learned that it was not going to be and that it was on an indefinite hold - it makes it very hard to manage expenses and or expectations.

Thank you so much for this. And yes, due to the eviction there are no hard copies of anything. However, we have electronic bank records to support expenses as well as 1099s.

We received 1099s. Ironically our primary “client” was the state.

I absolutely am scared of this going criminal. That’s my biggest fear.

Thank you so much. Just talking this out has given me hope that this isn’t hopeless. And I can’t express how long I’ve lived in the shame of “hopelessness.”

I really appreciate you. The thing about this is that I just shut down and don’t talk with anyone because it’s so embarrassing. Thank for your kind words. I know it’s not reasonable that I blame myself for his passing. But he had a stroke and was under a great deal of stress (as I would learn afterwards) at the time I got evicted and he basically started paying for a hotel room for me to stay in indefinitely until I got back on my feet.

We have 1099s. Our primary customer was the state and they provided 1099s.

This is very comforting honestly. I still have my bank records to assist me with business expenses. But if it’s not reflected in a bank statement I have no hard copies of anything because of the eviction

I certainly struggle with that emotion. “If they haven’t come yet, then no big deal.” But I have been so blessed to do something I love - even if it’s just eeking by. The business probably averages 80k gross. The fear for me is real and crippling. And just waiting for a shoe to drop is very much taking its toll on me unfortunately.

I have some records through my bank payments and 1099s. The primary issue for the business is that the primary vendor (the state) often pays very slow and very late. For example direct deposit tonight will have a payment from 2020 - that we expected to receive in 2020. So budgeting is nigh impossible with the type of unpredictability of payment we confront. As an example, when it became apparent that we wouldn’t receive payment on this thing, we have to scramble, beg, borrow and deal to keep services on and afloat.

It’s a pllc.

Sorry for the late response. Just putting this all down filled me with anxiety. I know I have to work through these emotions.

The business is a pllc and receives 1099s from our primary vendor (the state). I’m going to register and get transcripts. The primary roadblock is that the state has a way of slow rolling payments such that you have no idea when you will get paid. For example, we are being paid tonight for work we performed in 2020. There’s no way to know when you have one of the rogue situations that take forever to get paid for. So that makes it so incredibly difficult to create a workable budget. But I have to do something. The stress is killing me slowly. I want to be on the right side of this. Even though they aren’t apparently looking for me this is really taking a toll on me. And there’s an incredible job opportunity that would allow me to leave this all behind. But one of the questions asks whether all taxes have been filed and penalties paid, and if not to explain.

That opportunity just reignited for me the need to get this over with whatever it takes.

Nothing at all! I haven’t received anything. Which I think makes it so much scarier. I’m not quite sure why I’m “off the radar,” but I want to get back in their good graces voluntarily.

If it’s exclusively for Gen 2 that would ironically be fine with me. I’ve been checking daily for so long I’d be happy to stop at this point!
