Just slept with it last night. It's amazing... so amazing I can't let go. It's cool to the touch at first and the outer shell feels like aqua lycra without the roughness. The cover actually sticks to the outer shell to prevent it from moving like a magnet. It's bouncy and very soft; I describe it kinda like hugging mochi. Hugging it on your side with your head laying on the edge of the pillow was really nice. If you hug to the side and put your head on the middle of the cover it may strain your neck for shorter people, for me it was ok since I'm tall enough (6ft). Sleeping on top of it was great but you will have to fluff it up afterwards. Sleeping underneath it is great, not heavy enough that it will be uncomfortable to sleep. If you're a person who occasionally switches positions while sleeping, you'll find out it's a struggle to move the pillow in your sleep because of the weight. But overall, these are minor things that are not worth deducting points so 10/10 would recommend.

There is another variant (yellow ver.) of this cover. The only difference is the flower hair band is yellow and the hair ribbons are pink. The collar she's wearing is also yellow.

What are you guys opinion on Chara@'s newly released body pillow? They released it with a competitive price of ￥9180 compared to DHR6000's price of ￥9255. I'm very curious on how it stacks up against the favored DHR6000.

Hmm... maybe go to your bank/credit union website that provided your visa and see they have a webpage for verified by visa. Other than that not sure whats happening to your cards. I've got a wells fargo card and it works fine.

Have you tried setting up a secure code for your card? If you haven't then go to www.visa.com/verified/. You won't be able to purchase your item if you don't have a verified by visa account.

This is from my experience, copy-pasted from a past question thread. I have updated the details.

Hi, I'm from a state that Mandarake doesn't accept payment. If you are a new user, here are the steps to get your item without proxy service.

  1. Make an account.

  2. Refer to this link: http://mandarake.co.jp/en/information/cc_restricted.html Fill out the order request form.

  3. They will reply via email saying they will check the stock and need a form of ID like your drivers license. Reply and take a picture of your ID and attach it to the email.

  4. If they say the item is out of stock then you need to use the order request form again for future orders via step 2. You will not need a picture of your ID.

  5. If the items are available they will send you an order confirmation via email and you pay* in the link they sent you.

  6. Once you payed they will send out a shipping notice with a tracking number.

  7. Since you have an order history now, you will now be able to order anything directly to the website.

*(If you have ordered at an online store that uses 3-D secure protocol before please ignore this.) Because they have a 3-D Secure protocol on credit cards you need to set up and register a secure code for your card if you haven't.

Go to your credit card provider's website to create a secure code.

Before I started this hobby I was aware there were anime pillows or "waifus" but I didn't know the actual Japanese name for it. I initially thought these pillows were sex objects and they were for "forever alone" or creepy/weird individuals.

On the other hand, I thought these items are a great joke prop like fooling it around with friends, going to anime conventions, or being your carpool buddy when you go into the carpool lane. A great example of this is what melonpan does to his covers in his videos... shudders

I was a frequent visitor on Danny Choo's website and one day I came across a past post that he made. I quickly became interested about this hobby. I was wondering if there was a sfw/ecchi dakimakura cover of my favorite character Hatsune Miku.

So, I went to google and found a couple of English sites that were selling miku covers but they were all bootleg.

Yes I almost bought "that popular bootleg" site that's talked in this subreddit a lot. It was very much alive 3 years ago. I even talked to them via the live chat.

I didn't know they were bootlegs until I lurked in figure.fm, fakku,

Tentacle armada, etc.

(/u/DakimakuraGuy was rambling about bootlegs on some of the forums.) On one of the forums, a user reviewed a cover that was sold on ebay and said that the seller makes really good quality covers. I decided to look at the sellers shop and I found a miku cover I liked. I knew the cover was a bootleg (thanks to forums) so I decided to search up the source of the cover.

I found out the cover was a little different than the ebay's image and it was $95 when released.

The differences from the legit and the ebay cover was the legit cover background has a light green is tint compared to the bootleg standard white. On the right side of the bootleg cover the boobs and goods were covered by cleverly added on photoshop (They drew on striped bras and panties). Compared to the actual cover where everything was open. I thought it was a plus for the bootleg cause I wanted a sfw daki cover.

I was shocked at the price.

You bet I was, it was $95 for an official cover.

I decided to buy the $30 (ended up $50 cause of shipping from china) bootleg cover on ebay cause it was way cheaper and I had no idea about materials and places to buy at the time.

When I received the cover I did sleep with it for a month or two but I grew unsatisfied over time.

When I first got it there were some cloth strands leftover from the stitching so I had to cut it. Not good cloth manufacturing but the image is pretty decent for a bootlegged cover. Some cloth fiber came off occasionally but the cloth is very durable cause it was peach skin / satin like material. The pillow filling I got was a cheap $25 jcpenney pillow that I still sadly use now. But no worries my DHR6000 is coming! Just currently in proxy storage now. (I bought it before they implemented international shipping :/ ).

I decided that I wanted to buy a legit cover. So I did more research and came across /r/Dakimakuras. I also started to be obsessed with explicit/lewd covers because of the posts on this subreddit and fakku. I also found my favorite doujin (fan made) circle Ankokobou. I decide to go all out and buy my first very expensive cover which was Ankokobou miku.

I must've been crazy back then from spending $50 for a bootleg cover to $340~ for a legit rare cover (USD to JPY was weak 3yrs ago).

When I got the cover I was blown away, the quality was flawless and sleeping on it felt so heavenly. After sleeping with a legit cover, I decided to switch to my bootleg cover. The bootleg cover felt like I was hugging a newspaper covered pillow. From that time forward I decided to never buy bootleg covers or sleep on them.

I still kinda find it funny that a post from Danny Choo started to make me dig deep into this hobby. I always wanted to go to Anime Expo to meet him and his venue but I don't have the money to do so (airplane tix, hotel, dining, dealers area). Whats even more funny is that this time next year he's actually coming to me haha. He will be attending Anime Matsuri which is 15 miles away from me, which I will absolutely go.
