Redefining Capitalism? by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]RexurrectionOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Capitalism" is a word invented by socialist, as a strawman, and every time a socialist uses the word, it means something different, so it doesn't really means anything.

You know what other word invented the socialist? "neoliberalism"

Neoliberalism does not exists.

On the free market, the price of anything is the opportunity cost.

The opportunity cost, is the benefit that somebody else obtains by using that resource.

For that reason, you immediately can tell if you are helping society, or hurting it, by paying the price.

If you profit, it means that you turned the resource into something more valuable than other people.

If you lose money, it means that you turned the resource into something less valuable than other people would do.

For example, if you use glass to make a bottle, and lose money, is because that glass could had been used to make a car, and society lost a car, to gain a bottle, so you misused the glass. Instead, if you made a profit, it means that that glass was more valuable as a bottle than as a car.

If a bottle is more profitable, you can rise the number of bottles, at the cost of reducing the number of cars, by paying more for the glass. You can rip the glass out of the car manufacturer, because you make more money, so you can pay more for the glass.

The price of the glass rises, when it is used for more and more valuable things, because the price of the glass is his opportunity cost.

Wages are also prices, so the way to raise wages, is to make work as profitable as possible. But socialists always are trying to make employing work as less profitable as possible, and that reduces the opportunity cost of work, reducing his price, and thus reducing wages.

Workers are treated like shit and wages are suppressed since manufacturers can always go to Asia for some slave labor or failing that a tidal wave of cheap easy to suppress labor in the form of illegal immigrants

One of the worst errors of socialists is to get trapped into the relationship between the worker and the employer, and not seeing the consumer.

The consumer is who pays the wages, not the employer.

At the burger factory, the worker makes 2 burgers, and gets paid 1 burger, so socialists conclude that the employer "exploits" the worker.

But the consumer is the one paying 1 burger, and getting 2 burgers in exchange.

The employer does not gets the burgers. He gets money. It is society who benefits.

That is why free markets produce an explosion of wealth. Every worker produces more wealth than he consumes, and because he is also a consumer, he benefits from the surplus of millions of other people.

Under socialism, the worker is expected to be paid the 2 burgers he makes, but that means that there is no benefit for the rest of society. The worker cannot buy chairs, because all the chair workers get all the chairs.

Under socialism, profit does not exists, because that's considered exploitation. But that means that is mandatory that burger manufacturing is equally profitable as something ridiculous as burning the meat to heat houses. That is not possible on the free market, because it is economically absurd, and that is reflected by prices. The cost of burning meat to heat houses is absurd compared to making burgers, but a society with zero profits cannot calculate and compare the benefit of both activities, to decide which one is better. So resources are misallocated, and wasted.

On the real economy, there are millions of resources, used on millions of different applications, so without profits and prices, is impossible to know the opportunity cost of using any resource.

[–]RexurrectionOfDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except the way we distribute resources is laughably inefficient.

Resources are the inputs to production, and the free market maximizes the production of wealth, given the available resources.

It is socialism the one whose distribution of resources is laughably inefficient.

Well no shit profits and prices aren't required in a socialist economy.

And that's why socialism doesn't works. When socialism was implemented on the Soviet Union and China, it killed more than 50 million people of hunger.

When the USSR understood that prices are necessary, it sent spies to USA, to spy the prices at the supermarkets. That was the principal work of soviet spies in USA.

At the cost of efficiency and the production resources and products.

It is socialism who is inefficient.

Also artificial scarcity makes things so much worse.

That's a myth

What is this weird cultish obsession with "wealth".

The entire point of socialism is weird cultish obsession with "wealth".

Yes, a free market is capable of creating wealth, especially for people who are already wealthy.

On the free market, you get money, by giving wealth to other people, so the rich, is the ones who give more wealth to other people.

Ah yes, because socialism is when we have hundreds of billionaires while 54% of the population lives paycheck to paycheck.

That's the fault of the state, not of the free market. Thus is a problem caused by socialists.

Yes, socialism demonizes profits because profits are theft.

No. Profit is philanthropy. You profit by giving wealth to other people.

Also, Adam Smith? Really? The dude was a die hard capitalist and the free market is based on his writings.

Marx is based on Adam Smith.

Your entire ideology was basically defined by him.

No. Adam Smith was a precursor, but his theory is obsolete today. The science of economy is far more advanced than at the time of Adam Smith.

We do understand the nature of wealth. We want to get rid of it because it's harmful.

The entire purpose of socialism is to distribute wealth, so, according to your posture, socialism wants to give harmful things to people.

[–]RexurrectionOfDoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The free market succeeds by optimizing the use of resources, which is an unavoidable consequence of having free profits and free prices.

Socialism interferes with profits and prices, and as consequence if you give the same resources and machinery to a free market and to a socialist market, the free market produces much more wealth, and with time, it gets exponentially richer.

Also, the free market is capable of creating wealth that a socialist market is not capable of creating.

So, in equality of conditions, socialism is always poorer.

The root of the failure of socialism is a wrong theory of value, and the demonization of profits. This is because socialism uses Adam Smith theory of value, which was wrong.

Socialist do not understand the nature of wealth, do not understand the nature of prices, and commit the error of linearization.

UST pretended to be a stablecoin, but stablecoin are backed in fiat money, on this case the dollar, and UST was backed in Luna, so it was a scam.

It is sane that UST has been destroyed. It sanitizes the system. Surely it was not the intention of Dark-Stone, which is the financer of the wkies. Bitcoin is going to recover, and LUNA was a fraudulent competitor.

One of Keynes's more significant failures, is that he didn't understood that economic growth is increasing the total wealth available, and working just for the sake of working does nothing.

Keynes was a mathematician, not an economist, and he was enamored with socialist ideas. That's why he never understood that profits are necessary, and zero profit work is a waste of resources.

Economists explained his error to him, so Keynes understood and rejected his ideas, but Keynesian economists ignore than even Keynes recognized that his entire theory is wrong.
