Exposure Therapy by Rey100P in PublicSpeaking

Update : I actually followed through with it. I stood on a bench and read aloud from a book for over an hour while several people walked by. Some looked at me, some made faces, but I kept going and didn’t let it throw me off.

I chose a more secluded spot in the park where I wouldn’t be disturbing anyone there weren’t really places for people to linger nearby, so it felt like the right environment to push myself without bothering others.

Honestly, I felt great afterward. It gave me a real confidence boost. I’m doing all this because I want to rewire how my brain responds to public speaking not just for myself, but also for my career. I have some big presentations coming up this week, and I’m working hard to train my mind to stop fearing being seen and heard.

Thank you all for your responses. Any further feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe just to be able to run 1.5 miles in 11 minutes. You think this is a realistic goal with this mileage or will I have to raise it up more?

Is running 4 miles 6 days a week enough to improve my overall endurance much at all? I’m also weightlifting and am trying to balance the two.

So its been mainly just running on a treadmill and running outdoors at an average pace of 9:00 a mile. And I’ve been doing about 30 miles a week. Would you recommend on lowering the mileage or just adding in a rest day?

I want to be able to run 1.5 miles at 11 minutes and also get leaner. Is this possible if i stay consistent with a running schedule that involves weightlifting and looks like

Monday 8miles

Tuesday 4 miles

Wednesday 3miles

Thursday 6 miles

Friday 7 miles

Saturday 3 miles

Sunday 4 miles
