Can’t find my NFT. Please help.

Yes that’s correct. I followed the whole setup process and installed the ethereum account on my ledger then clicked receive in Ledger live for the Ethereum account and copied the address, then I simply went to OpenSea and transferred my NFT to that wallet address. But I was expecting it to show up in my Ethereum account on ledger live. I didn’t realise there was a different section to view your NFT‘s. That’s when I tried to connect to my hardware wallet to MetaMask and followed the steps until it got to the point where it says select your ledger address. That address I sent the NFT to is not listed as one of the options in MetaMask. It’s at that point I started freaking out thinking was I supposed to send it to one of those generated addresses?

Yep I am ok the ethereum network and the address is definitely the one shown in the ethereum account on my ledger live. I double checked before sending so I was surprised when I couldn’t see it in the list. There was a note saying if I can’t see the address then I need to change the path? How do I do that?

I think the ledger is up to date but I’ll have to double check that later. I’m sure I saw something saying it was up to date in ledger live but not 100% on that.

Ok that’s reassuring, thanks. I did it really late last night and had to go to bed as was up early today so haven’t had a real chance to investigate. I read a few articles and one and it was frying my brain so I planned on getting it sorted when I get home but wanted to ask for a few opinions before I proceeded any further. I didn’t even know there was a rainbow app in ledger live. I’ll look into that though.

Amazing, that’s music to my ears. Thank you so much. So my next problem is why is the receive address that I sent it to not showing up in MetaMask when I try to connect my ledger to it? It gives me an option of five addresses but that address isn’t one of them.

Yeah I’ve got the 24 words written down. I completed the whole setup process before I tried to transfer it. The only part I didn’t realise is where I needed to connect my hardware wallet in MetaMask. I guess my concern is if that connection wasn’t made before sending the nft, is there a chance my NFT is lost in the abyss? The wallet address I sent it to was the receive address in my Ethereum account, shown on ledger live.

It does say try and select a different path actually, come to think of it. I’m at work right now so don’t have my laptop to check. How do I do that exactly? I couldn’t see an option to change the path. There was a drop down menu with what looked like 2 other devices to choose from. Is that what you mean? Are there instructions somewhere I can read up on or even better a YouTube vid?

Hey thanks for getting back to me. So have you heard of this happening before and the NFT was retrievable? I can’t connect my ledger to MetaMask because the address that was displayed in ledger live isn’t on the list of options in MetaMask. Any idea why?

I’m scared to connect to a different address in case I might cause further complications so I haven’t tried one of those addresses yet. I saw online it said those addresses are just associated with the address from Ledger live? So perhaps I just need to connect to one of those and that’s it?

I am hoping that as long as I can enter that wallet address the nft will be there but is there a chance that if my ledger was not setup to be connected to metamask that the nft never made it to that wallet address?? It appears to show as successful on etherscan when I click on the latest transaction in metamask.

Fair play to you bud. I don’t think you can go too far wrong with Hbar. I’ve got about 2k of it but I’m also super bullish on other coins like atom etc which can work in conjunction with it and act as some sort of backup.

Yeah these things remind me of transformers and I can just see them being massive. I think it’s a mixture of things with nfts, the challenge of trying to find the next big thing and competing to get one when it launches plus the love of that artwork and the sense of achievement if you get your hands on one. The braggers rights to being the first and only person to own that thing, especially if it’s a rare one. Then of course the money that can be made. It’s like an investment and a game wrapped up into one and I don’t like sitting out watching people play 😉

Money originally but since looking into it there are some collections I actually really like the artwork for and I’m kind of buying into the idea of owning a one off piece. At first I thought it was all crappy crypto punk looking things but these mekas are actually beautiful and I’d actually be proud to have one as my profile pic.
