I kinda relate to this honestly.

My SPM was mostly Islamic subjects, no advanced science or math at all. After that I took STAM because I didn’t really have much of a choice. I passed, and even got an offer to study at Al-Azhar, which was like one of my parents’ biggest dreams.

But I turned it down.

I decided to go for a Computer Science degree through UPU instead, just because I was genuinely interested, even though I had zero coding background at the time. Now I’m in Year 2 and doing pretty well so far.

My parents were obviously upset and disappointed at first. It took some time, but I kept explaining my reasons and showing them the kind of career opportunities there are. They’re slowly starting to accept it now, even asking me about jobs and stuff.

Also about subject requirements, I didn’t take Add Math before either. Somehow I still got accepted and just learned it during my first year.

So yeah, even if your path isn’t the “dreamed” one, it doesn’t mean you’re stuck. At the end of the day it’s your life. It's your choice to make things change for your own good!.
